Fatshion Faceoff: Hoop earrings

Sooooo. I have a bit of an issue with this weeks Fatshion Faceoff theme. I really like hoop earings- but, my ears aren't pierced! Its also extremely hard to find proper clip on hoop accessories! Even after years after searching, I only have one pair..... and theyare still in a box somewhere!

So instead, here are a few of the pairs I like at the moment!

1. New Look- Purple Feather and Leaf Drop
2. Diva- Gold Spike Hoop
3. New Look- Large Purple Hoops
4. Colette- Snake Head Hoops
5. ASOS- Wire Moustache Hoop
6.Colette- Wings and Cross Large Hoop
7. Forever 21- Spiked Hoops

I know its odd not to have my ears pierced- but in someways its really good! They were pierced when I was younger, but they were so sensitive I could only buy expensive plain earrings.  Now I can wear almost all of them! If I can, I buy earrings like the New Look feather ones as I can easily switch them into clip-ons. My favorites (and unable to be made clips) is the style like the ASOS Moustache hoops- how rad are those!!!

Check out what my pierced and fabulous FF babes are wearing!

Aussie Curves: Stripes

I  would definitely say I'm a stripey fan. I happen to have a pretty substantial collection of stripey things- tanks, blazers, dresses, skirts (long ones too) and well, lots more blazers.  It's probably not style defining, but its safe to assume they are a pretty integral part of my wardrobe!

I was going to do an all out stripey outfit for this weeks Aussie Curves but decided instead to show off some subtle stripe detailing.

Dress: ASOS Curve
Blazers: ASOS Curve
Necklace: Ashley Stewart
Flats: Rubi Shoes

I love the colours in this dress! I really want to get some neon yellow accessories and re-style it again! I like the horizontal and verticle stripes. They add the extra dimension to the outfit without actually taking the focus away from the pink.

Do you wear many stripey patterned clothes??

Fatshion Faceoff: Playsuit

Playsuits and rompers have exploded in popularity over the last eighteen months or so and I've actually acquired a few cute pieces too! It's funny, I saw them on other girls and I truly couldn't imagine the trend on myself , then just to give it a go I bought my first romper from a bargain bin. And I loved it!! So, when this weeks Fatshion Faceoff theme was playsuits- I knew exactly what I was going to wear!!

Romper: ASOS Curve
Jacket: Torrid
Stockings: We Love Colors
Platforms: Skechers

I saw this beauty on the ASOS Curve website and watched it until it ended up in clearance. I am so chuffed I snapped it up though- I feel super cute in it! And it's awesome to push those fashion boundaries, something you think isn't you might actually look fab on!

How amazing is the blazer from Torrid?!?! I can't wear it enough lately! It adds a wicked punch to any outfit!! I couldn't help but add the gorgeous candy pink stripes to the pink gingham dress- the perfect amount of clash/co-ordination!

I used to have the most awesome platform shoe collection. I had to buy these rad and retro pink glitter Skechers platforms, they remind of being fifteen and carefree!

Alrighty! Check out all the other Fatshion Faceoff babes in their playsuits too!!

Aussie Curves: Tribal

Aussie Curves challenge theme this week is Tribal. I saw these amazing pants by Avella at Big W not long back and snapped them up just because they were super comfy and cheap! And as it ends up, looking though my wardrobe today the whole look just fell together effortlessly around them- bargain buy win!

Jacket: Crossroads
Blouse: Kmart
Pants: Avella via BigW
Wedges: Betts
Necklace: Collete

When I think of tribal, I imagine line based prints, earthy shades with bold standouts, rope, dirt and neck collars! This Colette necklace nailed the collar on the head! It reminds me of the long neck rings worn in some African and Asian cultures- of course my Australian interpretation of the style anyway!

I seriously love the look of these pants. The print is reminiscent of tribal war-paint and the cut is almost Hammer-pants like! The red really pops against the pattern and the netting style wedge, I can't get enough of these killer Betts wedges- soooooo comfy!!!

I love how the structure of the jacket balances the free flowing top and pants. And when you have awesome deep pockets like this- no handbag!

How do you interpret a tribal theme??

Wardrobe/life re-evaluated

Anyone new here?? Let me bring you up to speed:

- In June 2011 I started this blog
- In August 2011 we packed up our home and put it all into storage- including 90% of my wardrobe
- We spent the next twelve months galavanting around the world and couch surfing
- Early 2012 we escaped the the UK for the Holiday of Awesome
- In June this year, Ben proposed at Full Figured Fashion Week in New York
- In September we bought a house

And this weekend, I got my wardrobe back.

Right! That is the quick and dirty version. The most important thing to note here (*ahem* apart from the diamonds on my left hand), is that I finally have my entire wardrobe back! And holy crap, there is obscene amounts of it. I used to laugh and brush it off when people told me I had lots of clothes. Well, here is my proof. An entire two rooms of proof. I have too many clothes.

I have clothes stored in bags because I always ran out of time at the end of a lease to go through them and decide what I actually wanted to keep. So I have lugged all these bags of 'un-chuckable' clothes from house to house, always intending to properly sort and re-evaluate them. In this house (my house- actually MINE ekkkkk :-), I have time. So I decided to be tough. I have been going through all the boxes and splitting them into three piles- chuck, donate and keep.

That said, it has been a whole lot of fun delving through the last seven years of clothes. I found some pure gems like a leather mini-skirt, a sequinned bra, black and white gangster platforms, a legion of Pearl Jam fan tees and the outfit I was wearing the day I met Ben!!!

The thing I'm most proud of though, is that I'm chucking all those clothes that made me feel ashamed and degraded by my body. I have a literal mountain (albeit small compared to Mount Fuji, but huge next to my bed-side table) of shrugs. I have lots of shrugs because I didn't want to leave the house with my arms showing.......

This memory makes me feel ill. I always thought I was relatively body confident. But looking at my collected clothes perhaps not so much. But you know what, looking at it now I am so proud of the confident and outgoing person I have become.

Another huge epiphany moment, was when I reached a bag of modified straight size clothes. I had this entire bag from about five-six years ago full of clothes that I had bought and adjusted to fit me. I'd cut the waist off long skirts to make mini skirts from the bottom flare out, slash into plain tees to make them punk rock, cut straps off tank-tops to make them boob tubes. All these modifications so that I could have clothes that made me feel good around my thin girlfriends who could buy clothes however they wanted!

Fat-fashion has come so far in the last ten years, I never truly have any problems buying what I'm looking for these days! Sure it's often more expensive and the range isn't as extensive- but we are getting there! Girls these days have so many more plus-size options available and everyday its getting better!

It was a truly amazing experience delving into my fashion past and discovering all these things about myself I'd forgotten. Better yet, helping me re-realize how happy I am to be me!

When was the last time you did a wardrobe
re-evaluation????

Fatshion Faceoff: Short Sleeve Cardi

I am so excited to finally get my wardrobe all out of storage. I'm in the middle of building my dream wardrobe in our new house, so this weeks Fatshion Faceoff short sleeve is a rolled up long sleeve! ;)

Cardi: Lily and Lou
Top: Supre
Skirt: Crossroads
Belt: ASOS Curve
Clutch: Vintage thrifted

I wore this outfit out for a lazy dinner with Ben on the weekend. The skirt is so comfy and I think it looks awesome with a structured tank tucked in. This is one of my favourite relaxed shirts, the sheer sexy without being skanky and the white contrast colour dresses up any outfit.

The cardi is my high rotation Lily and Lou black jacket. It's super soft, über wearable and goes with everything!

And of course that belt- total love!! I truly believe that ASOS Curve have the best plus-size belts on the market.

This purse was a $5 bargain. I love glomesh. I can't resist it, whenever I see some funky glomesh purses in Op-shops I always snap them up!

Alrighty! As always, can't wait to see all the Fatshion Faceoff girls in their short sleeve jackets!

Vlog: My Beauty Routine

You know that time you found a product that works perfect for your skin. Yeah I've had one of those. And now I want to tell everyone about it!

I've had several emails now from people wanting to know what my beauty routine is and I've ummed and ahhed about spilling my secrets in a little v-log about it. Well, I thought I might as well get on to it and show everyone- especially now that I've found my dream cleanser from Lash Care Co!!

Rather than doing one huge video, I'm planning to split it into a few little quick ones! So there will be makeup and false-lash application videos coming up next!

So tell me- what are your favourite products???
Do you have any beauty or fashion questions??

Aussie Curves: Sparkle

I love being sparkly. When I first started clubbing, I used to wear glitter all over and around my eyes. Looking back now it probably wasn't the best look for my heavily lidded eyes, but I always felt like the hottest thing in the room when I was wearing it!

I contemplated doing a full 18 year old me glitter eye revival, but to do it properly the look requires a giant mane of wild rock hair too. On Saturday afternoon my hair was still looking pretty fab from the Mater Gala, so I decided to dress glam to go with it!

Dress: City Chic
Jacket: Forever 21+

So obvious confession- I'm shoeless. All my shoes are still packed somewhere, but we just moved to the new house so I am finally getting ALL my clothes/shoes/accessories back!! Yayyyyyy!!!!

This jacket is one of my favourite purchases- I picked it up while in New York for FFFWeek and it was an absolute steal! Reduced to clear several times and the last one in my size- it was meant to be!!

I love how this whole look is glamorous and sparkly without being tacky. There is that fine line between overdoing and getting it right with lots of sparkles!

Alrighty! So that is Aussie Curves for another week! I am so excited for these weekly challenges, so many people are playing along and its awesome fun to see how everyone interprets the theme! Check out some of my other Aussie babes below!!!

OOTD: That smokin' dress

One of the things I love about Brisbane is it's rocking nightlife. I am a mega night owl (seen me on twitter at 3am??? I saw you!!) and love hitting up the town with some girlfriends for drinks and dancing! Of course, for  a truly awesome night out you need outfits that you feel confident in - this is one of those outfits!

Dress: Torrid
Jacket: ASOS Curve
Stockings: We Love Colors
Flats: Rubi Shoes

This dress rocks. Seriously. I can't get enough of it. I always really liked the bandage look dresses but couldn't quite get one to look right- until this smokin' dress!!! And in my favourite pink and black!!

I can always count on Torrid whenever I want to feel fabulous in a dress! They have a truly amazing range of gorgeous dresses! Here a few of the rocking pieces catching my eye at the moment!

Do you have an instant confidence boosting outfit???
