OOTD: FFFWeek Indie Designs Showcase

I've been working like crazy lately- wedding bills are coming in left right and center! And, as you've probably noticed, I've been a very bad blogger. I'd been looking through my FFFWEEK photos and knew that I had to post the last of my runway photos- they are to fabulous not to!

The Indie Designs showcase is always my favourite. Seeing what's coming next in plus-size fashion and watching the models boldly strut down the runway always makes my heart soar! Its watching history in the making with every stiletto step!

Although there were so many fantastic designers, my stand out for the night was OnOz. With structured lines and classic cuts, I was ready to jump out of my set and throw my credit card at their feet! I wanted everything! My favourite stand-outs were the scoop-neck dress and the crochet dress- LOVE!

This is the designer of OnOz Amelie, who I tracked down after the show purely so I could gush all over her! I was SO impressed with her collection!

A few more of my fabourites were Amiiee and the fabulous Youtheary Khmer. I love seeing designs pushing the envelope and creating such high fashion and fabulous pieces!

And then what to wear?! I wanted to be comfy and fabulous at this show and knew my Lovedrobe dress would be perfect. Bold red and black with sheer and puffy sleeves- it was perfect! And I felt gorgeous in this outfit!

Aussie Curves: Black and White

When I first started to discover fashion, I went through a black and white phase. I liked the instant chic-ness of a white blouse with a black skirt and it became a look I well and truly wore out for a year of so. When I started playing with colours it was love at first pink skirt! I must admit that now, pure black and white isn't something I really put together much, so I had fun dressing up in this outfit!

Belt: ASOS Curve
Bangle: Torrid
Clutch: Kate Hill
Flats: Rubi Shoes

My girlfriend Kendall is moving countries at the moment so last weekend we had a goodbye dinner with a few of us. I love looking at photos of us out on the town- I always get so inspired by my ladies fashions. I never hesitate to dress up when we go out because I always know they will all be bringing it!

I wore this totally rad Cult of California peplum skirt as the base of my outfit. I truly love this skirt. It's got a sewn in pair of shorts under the skirt so you don't need to worry about chafe or flashing! Plus it has a glorious silky feel that makes it so easy to wear. I paired it up with some bold gold as well, I'm a little obsessed with this gold bangle at the moment, its been making an appearance in lots of my outfits.

I bought this white blouse agggeess ago purely because I loved the peter-pan collar. It turned out being far to long on me and quite billowy, but I adore it tucked in! Its got a cute little bird in flight print and is light enough that its easy to wear and layer all year. Then some flats, my favourite clutch of the moment and I'm ready to go!

How do you wear black and white?

Fatshion Faceoff: Lazy Sunday

I love a lazy Sunday at home- it's  a special time of the week that I like to keep for family and time with Ben. The weekdays seem to fly by and Friday and Saturday nights often pass in a blur of shenanigans. It almost feels like Sunday is the day to step back, take a breath and recoup yourself.

On Saturday my Grandpa passed away, so we ended up having quite a somber weekend at home together. We both took some time out to just be with each other and chat about our memories together. My Pa loved his port, so we made a special trip out to buy his favourite brand and spent Sunday  having a few glasses in his honour. We drank a few, chatted, laughed and cried.

I go into self protection mode in times like this too. Apart from cuddles and ports, I spent the day in PJs, read my favourite book, we made home made pizzas, I put a treatment in my hair and a mud mask on my face. Even Neo could tell it was important to have a quiet day, she just sat on her mat and played with her toys. Somehow, small creature comforts like this make for the best lazy Sundays and help a sick heart heal as well.

So this is not the post I intended this week. But I figured it might be a nice change to see something closer to home rather than us out on the town.

And a little trip down memory lane....

 Check out that dapper mo!!

That's it for me this week folks. No makeup, pjs and hanging out at home. Now go give your grandpa a hug for me.
