OOTD: Scarf me baby ( + GIVEAWAY!)

In the Summer time when the weather is fine...... its nice to wear a scarf! I've always loved pretty scarves, but in tropical Queensland we don't get much occasion to wear them. We get about 3-4 weeks a year when its chilly enough to justify pulling out the scarves and beanies- which sucks, because I have a fabulous collection of them! I actually much prefer Winter fashion to the hotter months- layering up is awesome and ultra chic! But then I think about how much I love the sun and all those chilly fashion dreams go out the window.

So, I've been hunting for a gorgeous Summer weight scarf that I can throw on as an accessory and seek and you shall find! At the markets on the weekend I stumbled upon a rummage box of $5 scarfs and this beauty HAD to come with me!

Scarf: Vintage market find
Top: City Chic
Jeans: Torrid
Wedges: Betts
Belt: Forever 21+
Bag: gifted by Coussinet

Blue, floral and satin to boot! Its gorgeous! I ended up wearing it out that afternoon for a lunch date with Ben and styled it up with this bold pink (purple?) peplum and a gold belt. The colours perfectly play off each other and I felt a little like a retro Hepburn-esque bombshell who was going to ride off into the sunset! It was windy enough that I tried wearing it over my hair, but I ended up in more of a mess than I started with- watch this space for classic beauty head scarf practicing!

The gorgeous bag I'm wearing here was sent to me by Coussinet, an Australian company that creates quirky and individual fashion accessories. I adore the bohemian feel of their collection and couldn't wait to get my hands on this Imelda Bag (which I now think is sold out online). The quality is amazing- with the intricate beading and complex textures it adds a real punch to any outfit!

Even better, Coussinet have very kindly offered to giveaway a Portia necklace to one lucky reader! Featuring a mix of leather, metal sections and embroidery, the Portia necklace is a definite eye-catcher. Enter below for your chance to become the owner of this gorgeous necklace! Winner is drawn next Tuesday 26/11!

  8. A crisp white shirt with a low V-neck would allow this necklace to drop at the right level, teamed with jeans or trousers would make this ensemble jazzy and stylish without trying too hard.
