OOTD: Exploring NYC

Whenever I'm travelling, I opt more for comfort than all out fabulousness; well clothes that are cute and comfy anyway! This OOTD was snapped the morning before FFFWeek started, Ben and I spent the day exploring NYC and ended up down at Pier 17 in front of the Statue of Liberty!

Top: Thick Chic Boutique
Tank: Lily and Lou
Skirt: Torrid
Tights: Big W
Sneakers: Strawberry
Bracelet: Strawberry

I couldn't resist getting a few pictures in the middles of this waterfall- it was great fun trying to beat the water!  I am totally in love with this black body-con skirt that I picked up in the Torrid sales. It's become a definite wardrobe staple!

The geometric top I bought while checking out some of the local plus size shops in LA; it's from a fab little shop Thick Chic Boutique. I wish I had some more dollars saved when we went, I would have bought the entire store!!

What do you wear when travelling??

Fatshion Faceoff: Swimwear

This week's Fatshion Faceoff was chosen by me- swimwear! Now first things first, I need to admit a few things:

- I really didn't think this through, it's currently winter in Australia.
- I didn't go swimming in these today (refer to first point)
- Its night time, not even remotely a good time for swimwear (unless you're on holidays)

To be completely honest, I had intended to take these pictures while we were in Vegas, but somehow too many cocktails mixed with too many wines meant I never got them done. So I've cheated. I didn't actually wear these anywhere, just in my backyard to show you what I would wear if it was warm and sunny.

Coverup: Torrid
Shorts: City Chic
Swimmers: Always for Me

The shorts have a little sheen to them which didn't capture very well on camera- but does look really cute in real life. I swear by little cover-up dresses to throw over my togs. I love putting one on and strutting around the pool, they always give me an extra confidence boost! This gem I picked up at Torrid. I especially love it because it's low cut- I think we all need to show a little bit more boob ;)

Much the same for the swimmers actually. I liked them because the print was classic and the the cups are low cut with an underwire for a bit more support, while still looking cute and booby! Plus they have the extra little keyhole detail too!

I have quite a few pairs of pretty colourful swimmers too, but sometimes you just can't go past classic black and white! With a big floppy hat and my cover-up on, I always feel very 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' in this suit! Only the chubbier, less classy version ;)

Check out the other Fatshion Faceoff girls in their swimmers too- hopefully they get a bit of sun on theirs!!

Fatshion Faceoff: Coloured Purse

This week's Fatshion Faceoff is one of my favourite things- a coloured purse! If you are here a bit you have probably noticed how much I love funky colourful extra bits in my outfits! This week's item is one of my well loved coloured purses, but still my best go-to for an instant outfit punch!

The coolest thing about this mad purse, is that I picked it up in an Op-shop (or thrift shop as it's called in the rest of the world!) for about $5! I've probably had it for about seven years now and it's still going strong!!

Jacket: ASOS Curve
Dress: New Look Inspire
Leggings: Big W
Purse: Thrifted
Necklace: Ashley Stewart

I really can't get enough of blazers this Winter season- I've already gained quite a collection! I really like the structure this ASOS Curve jacket adds to the flowy dress. I wore this outfit out on the town for some catch up wines with local bloggy friends- man I love bloggy friends!

Melissa from Suger Coat It, Gil from Tessie Design Company, Me!, Sheri from Sheri Bomb, Lisa from Mrs BC's House of Chaos and my handsome man!

Can't wait to see the other amazing Fatshion Faceoff girls with their colourful purses!

FFFWeek: Sonsi BeYOUtiful Pop-Up Party

By far my favourite event of Full Figured Fashion Week was the Sonsi Blogger Be-You-Tiful pop-up party. It was a really fab morning with great nibblies, 5-minute manicures, awesome giveaways and amazing company!

It was really wonderful getting up-close and personal with the brands and chatting about their new collections. I am really excited to see what Sealed With A Kiss Designs are coming out with this season- they had some fabulous samples at the event and Sarah was sooooo amazing- she's truly passionate about the brand and making clothing that suits the buyers.

With Georgette, Rebecca and Nicole- I love these ladies!!!

Catherine's also had some gorgeous pieces on display too and I spent some serious time drooling over Sydney's Closet dresses!

Thankyou to Lucas Pictures for the above pictures

Chatting to Gwen DeVoe the Full Figured Fashion Week creator

And then of course to the clothes! I wore my new Torrid mini and Forever 21+ tank. I am seriously in love with this skirt- it's so comfy and super cute! And how mad is my necklace from Mombosa!!!

Skirt: Torrid
Tank: Forever 21+
Shoes: Lane Bryant

Fatshion Faceoff: Scarf as a belt

So as much as I love holidays, getting back into normal routine is a killer- I am so behind in all my posts! So here is this weeks (last weeks?) Fatshion Faceoff chosen by Hanna- scarf as a belt!

Jacket: ASOS Curve
Tank: Lily and Lou
Skirt: City Chic
Scarf: From the FFFWeek swag bags!
Stockings: We Love Colors

I thought this idea was really awesome! I've never even thought of trying a scarf as a belt but that is why Fatshion Faceoff posts are so awesome- they push my fashion boundaries! The pattern on this scarf is so cool and with the silkiness of it- I couldn't resist adding my 'fur' jacket!

There is a very small window of opportunity in Australia to wear really warm jackets, so whenever I can- I live in them! I love the way a 'fur' jacket looks, it almost makes me want to move to the UK! ;)

Also, I reallllllyyy need a new camera! I'm bummed about all the flash washout on these piccys!! Any tips for  camera buying guys????

Being such a late post I've already see the other amazing girls with their belts- check them out, they all look BEAUTIFUL!

FFFWeek: Curves, Connections and Cocktails

Night two of Full Figured Fashion Week had us shaking our groove thing at District 36 nightclub for the Curves, Connections and Cocktails event. Being a bit loud in the club, it was more party than proper networking- but it sure was a fun night!

How cool is Ylenia's shirt!!

It was so mad meeting Rikke! She has the coolest rock-star style!

With the Evans team and some of my Aussie babes- Sam, Caitlin, Me and Jess

A sneaky picture of Nicole and Bec!

I loved meeting Shafonne the owner of Pretty Pear Bride! She is so warm and genuine and her magazine is a must go to source for the plus size brides! I've been on the site non-stop making wedding plans! ;)

Karen and her man-friend are so much fun! It was great getting to know them at FFFWeek! It's so surreal because I have been reading her blog for so long- it was almost crazy finally meeting her!

The fabulous Gwen DeVoe (creator of FFFWeek) before she introduced the main act of the night's entertainment- The Curvy Cabaret!!

Gorgeous Danimezza- another fab Aussie blogger!

 Getting some cuddles from Nicole!

Jess and Rikke having a dancefloor moment! ;)

And finally meeting Kris! My goodness this chick rocks! I love her so much and was honored to meet her in NYC!!

And then of course- what did I wear?!?! I think you guys already know how much I love this City Chic dress! The textures, the cut, the neckline swoooooooooonn! It's my go-to fab dress!

Dress: City Chic
Tights: We Love Colors
Necklace: Queen Grace Collection

The beautiful necklace I picked up at the Curvy Girl Sale earlier in the day from Queen Grace- I think it added the perfect pop of colour!
