Holiday of Awesome- Europe wrap up

I know this post is awfully late, but it's taken a ridiculous amount of time to go through the (over) 6000 photos we took while travelling! So instead of a blow by blow, here is a wrap up with some of my favourite highlights!

Our epic Adventure took us to these places:

Kuala Lumpur- London- Belgium- Netherlands: Amsterdam- Germany: Rhine Valley, Munich- Austria: Innsbruck- Italy: Venice, Rome, Florence- Switzerland: Lucerne- France: Paris- Paris for Christmas- Amsterdam for New Years- United Kingdom: London & Bath & Stratford & Liverpool & Oxford- Egypt: Cairo, Aswan, Edfu, Luxor, Hurghada, Cairo

Our favourite place was definitely Egypt- so I can't help but do a special Egypt adventures post tomorrow! In the mean time, here is some of my other favs!

Phew!!! What a trip! If you were particularly interested in checking out a few more piccys I've shared the albums on my Facebook Wall. I can't wait to show you Egypt! It blew our minds......

OOTD: Australia Day

I love Australia Day; it's basically a mid-week public holiday purely for the purpose of celebrating how fab our country is. Now, I know  of course there is historical reference behind our January 26th public holiday:

'Australia Day, 26 January, is the anniversary of the arrival of the First Fleet of 11 convict ships from Great Britain, and the raising of the Union Jack at Sydney Cove by its commander Captain Arthur Phillip, in 1788 (you can read a comprehensive history of the evolution of Australia Day here).'

But what I love most about it, is that we get together with friends, family and loved ones, for beers, BBQ's and good times!

Dress: City Chic
Leggings: BigW
Cape: Woolworths
Aussie Pride: Born 1986

Here is a few of my happy snaps from the day!

There is nothing quite like cricket in the park on Australia Day! As a side note, my parents are leaving to Grey Nomad around Australia next week, so gave us our birthday presents early! Amongst the bag of goodies were these rad new costumes- how cool! :-D

Do you have a favourite public holiday????

OOTD: eShakti Love!

WARNING: THIS POST MAY CAUSE (ANOTHER) ONLINE SHOPPING ADDICTION

Have you heard about eShakti?? If not get over to their website right now and be blown away by the amazing vintage, modern and fresh clothing styles they have for sale! And best bit of all- EVERYTHING is available pre-made in sizes 0-26 or you can get it custom made to your measurement!

Towards the end of last year, I was contacted by the fabulous eShakti team and offered an item from their collection to review; I of course jumped at the chance! After arriving back to Australia, I raced straight to my PO BOX to pick up this cute little number:

Today I wore it out to lunch with some girlfriends and teamed it with cute lace up booties! I adore the button detailing and the in-flight bird print is gorgeous! The fit was perfect and the material super soft and lightweight- a summer staple already! The just above the knee hemline is flirty and fun for hot days; not your taste- well  in the order options you can change the hem line, neckline and sleeve length! Seriously, I'm in love!

These are some of my other favourite items from the current collection:

I adore the retro feel to these four pretty dresses. I'm hooked on collars and pussy bow tops at the moment; I can see the first dress paired with some stockings and t-strap pumps for a retro feel. The second dress I would rock at the beach and the Hearts a Flutter is perfect cocktail chic! The Corset Style dress would be totally owned by Sheri over at Sheri Bomb Blog ;)

Field of Poppies, Peter Pan Collar Blouse, Polka Dance Top, Sunset Blooms

Love love love their tops and blouses! I have to stop myself from browsing the eShakti website all day! These were just a few of the things I've added to my lust list lately- go check them out, I want to know what your favourite item is?????

OOTD: Date Night

Wow! It's been a crazy last 2 months and I'm sad our holiday is over- but happy to be home! We have both been catching up on a bit of us time (you know, a holiday to recover from the holiday) and some chilled out time is exactly what we needed! Much like this date night at Mount Coo-Tha that we had before we left (better late than never right ;):

My piddly little excuse for a camera can't capture the sheer beauty or the lookout, but the view is near 360 degrees of Brisbane City. It's a fabulous little date spot with a really rad cafe too!

I've only just gotton into pattern clashing and have been very inspired by Vannessa from Snappy and Savvy- she is the ultimate pattern mixing pro!

I adore this floral kaftan. I picked it up for a bargain $19 at Kmart, sweet as! I felt very relaxed, free and chilled in this outfit, date night chic tick!!!

Holiday Diary #5: Paris Shenanigans

Post Written in: Paris
Next Stop: Amsterdam
(Current Location: Bath, UK)

I know I have been very blog absent lately and I want to give a huge thank-you to all you loyal readers who have still been commenting and following me on our adventure! Our Holiday of Awesome hit a very sad note a few days back: my iPhone was stolen. After my initial hysteria (and blubbering, teary phone calls home) calmed, I realised that, ultimately, it's just an object- AND I'M IN AMSTERDAM!!! So the party went on- even if it had to be without Instagram updates :(

Prior to all this Amsterdam messiness (post to come in the next few days ;), we spent an amazing week in Paris! Our insanely excellent Contiki European Discovery tour finished up on Christmas Eve and we checked into our own hotel right near the Eiffel Tower! Here is a few of my favourite things (and happy snaps) of what we got up to!

- Had an awesome last night out with the rad people we met on Contiki
- Caught up on sleep after a non-stop 2 week Contiki tour!!!
- Visited the Arc De Triomphe
- Went to the top of the Eiffel Tower!
- Saw the bones of over 6 million bodies in the Paris Catacombes

- Were amazed by the Notre Dame cathedral
- Spent Christmas Day strolling around Paris and the epic Christmas Markets
- Had Christmas dinner with some of the Contiki crew who were still in Paris and ate some authentic French food, including escargot!
- Visited Napoleon's Tomb

- Spent a very naughty evening getting up to mischief in Montmartre and the famous Museum of Erotic Art
- Explored The Louvre for an entire day and still didn't see it all! (two of these piccies not taken by me- these were some of the photos that got stolen on my phone)

After this epic week of fabulousness we then headed on to Disneyland Paris- a post in itself!!! :)

Styled By Olivia: Suger Coat It- party wear

There is nothing that rocks more than getting your party on! I love dressing up, hitting the town and tearing up the dance floors! For the second part Mellisa's Styled by Olivia dress up day (from items from my own wardrobe), I dressed Suger Coat It in three of my favourite party outfits!

I am a huge fan of tunic tops and this City Chic number is one of my most worn styles! Cinched at the waist and with shoulder zip detailing, this is a perfect little party number!

Everything is better in PINK! This ASOS Curve dress is my all time favourite party frock! I have had many a cocktail, boogie, dance and messy night in this funky number! With it's short hem, plunging neckline and sweet bright colour, I'm ready to rock the minute I put this on! I can't wait to see the shenanigans that Melissa gets up to in this one!

Another super rocking ASOS tunic that transitions perfectly from work to cocktails to parties! I love the cute little peter pan collar and curve hugging cut- party confidence tick!

So these were just a few of the epic amount of photos we took on the day! Another huge thankyou to Lisa for letting us take over her house and to Melissa for letting me treat her like my barbie! We had an awesome day and I can't wait for the next one! Can I twist anyone elses arm into a dress up day????? ;)
