FFFWeek: Curves shopping day and Brand building

Day two of FFFWeek was a massive day! It started early with the Curves in the City shopping day, where the main hall of the Affinia Manhattan was made up into our own private brand boutique!

We spent several hours perusing all the goodies and I picked up a few amazing bargains- most notably a rocking necklace from the Queen Grace collection, which I wore later that night.

It was also the first time I met Anslee- the designer behind Savannah Red. She is so amazing! I didn't get a picture of her collection at the Curvy Sale, but I can't wait to share her pieces from the Indie Designs Runway show!

I ADORED this rainbow sequin dress by Pop Up Plus, I wanted it sooooo much, but it was still a little out of my price range. Damn traveller budget! (I love the image of my clothes in the backround! Just stripped off lol!)

I dressed comfy-like mostly so I could easily slip in and out of the designer samples (..... not just because I was epically hung over from the White Cruise *cough*), but loved wearing this geometric print tee that I picked in LA from Thick Chic Boutique

Blouse: Thick Chick Boutique
Skirt: Torrid
Tights: BigW

It was also so awesome to meet the Evans team! These ladies are so approachable and friendly, I'm sure they made some American fans just because they were so rad! Cool story though, when we were in the UK at Christmas time, I tweeted at Evans asking where the nearest store was to me and it was these two that replied! They even remembered the tweet!

That afternoon we headed to the Building Your Brand workshop- an event I thoroughly enjoyed!

Hosted by Marie Denee, the panel really approached the building your brand concept from all angles. The speakers were from varied backgrounds- designer Marina, from Queen Grace, Alissa, blogger from Stylish Curves and Madeline, editor from Plus Model Magazine, so it was awesome to hear their diffrent tools and tips.

Blazer: Forever 21+
Lace Tank: Forever 21+
Skirt: City Chic
Tights: We Love Colors
Necklace: Ashley Stewart

I dressed in a kind of preppy-chic style for this event. I am totally in love with blazers (I brought three on this trip), they add instant structure to an outfit. This skirt is one of my old favourites from City Chic, it has such an awesome shape and is easily dressed up or down.

The rocking necklace was one of many I picked up on sale at Ashley Stewart. The geometric design is so awesome really added to the dressy-ness of the top. What do you think of the necklace????

Oh, and as a last thing- branded cupcakes- OMNOMNOMNOMNOM!!

Fatshion Faceoff: Evening Dress

This week's Fatshion Faceoff challenge is an evening dress! Now, I have the PERFECT floor length dress for this post at home but as much as I wanted to, I couldn't drag a 10kg dress around the world with me! This was my fab second choice!

Dress: City Chic
Heels: Lane Bryant

I fell in love with this dress the minute I saw it! Unfortunately, like lots of these gorgeous- yet very dressy dresses, it sat in my wardrobe for quite a while. So I thought it deserved a holiday! I wore this out last night on our very first Vegas night out!

It has two attached petticoats that give such a gorgeous bell-bottom shape. The dress is also cut so well- it hugs in all the right places!

I'm more than a little in love with these aqua wedges I picked up from Lane Bryant. The colour adds a real punch to any outfit and I feel like it stops this dress from being just another evening dress- they really funk it up! They also come in a gorgeous coral colour- want!!!

Make sure you check all the Fatshion Faceoff babes in their evening dresses!

Do you have many evening dresses????

FFFWeek: White Cruise

I know I've posted a few piccys from this already- what with the Fatshion Faceoff and all those aahhhmazzing proposal pictures; but the night was so enjoyable it deserves its own post!

Believe it or not, I was extremely nervous about the White Cruise. For starters, I don't really wear white. And the biggest thing of all- I was meeting all these fabulous women that have inspired me. I was a major blog stalker before I started my own, so in a way I felt like I knew these babes already! But, that first meeting is always scary. As it turned out, everyone was even more amazing than I imagined!!

We caught a cab from our hotel with Nicole from A Well-Rounded Venture and Rebecca from The Plus Side of Me. I was so stoaked to meet these two gorgeous ladies and was lucky enough to spend quite a bit of the week with them. If you haven't read their blogs yet- get over there now! They are so open and genuine and loads of fun!

As we cruised around the Statue of Liberty, the sun was setting and the drinks flowing freely; it became pretty evident we were in for a big night so my heels came off and my flats were on! Here are my favourite piccys and some of the amazing women I was honoured to meet that night!

It was awesome meeting Ylenia who had come all the way from Italy for FFFWeek! Her and her partner were so friendly and lovely- we hit it off straight away!

Oh, and since we are talking about the top deck of the cruise ship- this is the perfect chance for me to squeeze in a few more engagement shots! ;)

And! I also got to finally meet my other Aussie bloggers! I was so happy to meet these wonderful ladies that I had had quite a lot to do with online; it's almost ridiculous that it took for me to get to New York to finally catch up with them!

Caitlin and I

Chatting with Jess! I loved meeting her sooooo much!

And then down to business....
Later into the night there was the Big and Tall Men's runway show, where some mega foxes showed off some smokin' outfits. After these shenanigans we headed to the dancefloor where we partied the night away!

Busting some moves with Marie and Kelly

I love this one of all of us grooving on the dancefloor. It really captures the energy and positivity of the whole cruise!

Rocking out my signature move- The Shampoo!

Oh, and then of course for those who missed it in the last post, I'm wearing:

Dress and Heels: Torrid
Facinator: Macy's

Phew! So there you have it- day one of FFFWeek! As you can see it was an epic night, and the beginning of a fabulous 5 days! I can't wait to share the rest of the posts with you!!

Fatshion Faceoff: Blue Jeans

This week's Fatshion Faceoff challenge item is blue jeans! Now, I'm not a huge pants person in general, but there is something so timeless about a perfect fitting pair of jeans! I love that jeans can be so easily dressed up or down; a tee and sneakers for the day, a sparkly tank and stilettos for the night! This weeks outfit was worn casual while exploring DisneyWorld on our USA Adventure!

Jeans: Crossroads
Tee: Old Navy
Sneakers: Strawberry

The jeans are my old-favourites from Crossroads; unbelievably super comfy and no button on the waist! I picked up these rad little sneakers from Strawberry while shopping in NYC. I went a little wild and snapped up quite a few things as this cute store, they even have a snazzy plus-size range! I really like the sequin details, the add that extra oomph!

Another shop we went crazy in was Old Navy. This stretchy little v-neck is from the straight sized section (it's an XXL) but fits really well, it has made great DisneyWorld wear! I am disappointed they don't carry the plus-size range in stores any more, I was really looking forward to getting in and trying everything on! Ben gained almost a whole new wardrobe while we were there, they have so many fab polo shirts and casual tees!

Can't wait to see how all the Fatshion Faceoff girls rock their blue jeans!

How do you wear jeans??? Do you wear them a lot??

We got engaged!

Some of you have probably already seen on Facebook or Instagram, but I wanted to officially let you guys know that Ben proposed on the Full Figured Fashion Week White Cruise!!!

The night of the White Cruise was our eight year anniversary, we were dressed to the nines, cruising past the Statue of Liberty, a cocktail or two in hand and enjoying the sunset on the top deck of the cruise ship. I was so shocked and unbelievably happy when Ben dropped to his knee, that I burst into tears. These amazing pictures were snapped by Danimezza and we are both so thankful for her quick photography skills!

As you can see from the pictures I am pretty excited! The whole proposal was so romantic and thought out, I honestly feel like the luckiest girl in the world. Thank-you to everyone for all the well-wishes, I have been overwhelmed by the response from the cyber world and am honoured to be able to share this next adventure with you! Another huge load of thanks to Dani for these amazing photos- how many people can say they have pictures from their proposal night!!

I have a MASSIVE stack of FFFWeek posts coming up and we have just touched down into Orlando tonight- so there is much bloggy goodness to catch up on! And I have to catch up with all your blogs too!!! Chat to you all soon- your newly engaged Olivia xx (OMG that feels so good to say that!!! ;)
