Earlier this week I had a whole lot of trouble deciding what celebrity I would use for this Aussie Curves post- I honestly had no idea who my style was like. It was Jess that gave me the idea for Marilyn Monroe, she suggested I go with blonde and pink and try Barbie! And then playing around with ideas led me to the fabulous Miss Monroe!
And really, out of all the style icons in history, isn't she the most iconic and recognizable! And the first official curvy fashionista!
This year also marks 50 years since she passed away- it was meant to be, I had to bust some Marilyn out!! ;)
As you can no doubt see from these photos, the outfit was a whole lot of fun! The makeup was awesome and so different to what I normally do- I think I've picked up some snazzy little tips for the future! To me, the most important part of this style was getting the makeup right, I took an hour to paint that face on!!
I really love any excuse to get into a costume and dress up, Best bit of all though- this dress is just some material that I've pinned behind me- cheap costume win!!
Who would you celebrity copycat????
wow Marylin, you look fantastic!!! great idea and so funny :-)
ReplyDeletewho would I copycat? no idea..
but years ago some people told me I look like the actress of the movie "my big, greek, fat wedding"...not really fancy or sex symbol :-(((
I always think the make-up makes or breaks a Marilyn Monroe look and you definitely made it! The penultimate picture is so cute, you have a really lovely smile. :)
ReplyDeleteThis makes me want to get some opera length gloves. As for who I would copycat? Maybe Christina Hendricks? I love her style & I went redhead because of her. I'd have to get the most padded bra in the world though!
