OOTD: Summer Days

Summer has hit us hard this year in Australia. It started early and with a vengeance! Because of the heat, I've been spending a lot of time in boring shorts or cropped leggings. I'm always looking for ways to throw a curve ball into my Summer wardrobe (I style up much better in the cooler months!) and from the first moment I put this Scarlett & Jo dress on, I knew I'd found it!

Dress: c/o Scarlett and Jo
Headband: Jay Jay's
Flats: Target
Necklace: Bought on holidays in Greece!

The dress is super lightweight without being too clingy. I love the feel of a thin cotton-like material in Summer, breathable and soft. The long kimono is attached to the shoulders by one loop in these photos and after that first wear, I separated them so the dress and jacket are two pieces. They are both so versatile, I know I will get heaps of wear out of them!

Sizing wise, I'm wearing a UK24 which fits pretty much perfectly. The dress is a body-con like fit but without too much cling.  The kimono is a relaxed cut with plenty of room in the arms and the waist. Together they have such an awesome bohemian vibe.

I've actually worn the black dress quite a few times now, on its on just with basic accessories. I love the midi length, it's such an instant chic cut that transition between casual and dressed up easily. For this outfit, we were heading out to lunch with some of Ben's friends so I opted for a more relaxed beach vibe with the t-bar flats and flower crown. I love the way the crown compliments the kimonos colours, plus I never seem to have enough excuses to wear my flower facinators!

How do you mix up your Summer wardrobe??

OOTD: Springtime

I love the layer shedding that happens in Spring. There is something about this wonderful transition season where you can still wear jackets but not have to cover your legs up. Fashion wise, I wish it was spring all year long!

Dress: c/o Scarlett & Jo available via Evans
Necklace and handbag: Colette
Heels: Target
Earrings and sunnies: eQuip

This gorgeous dress is part of the Scarlett & Jo Prom dress collection and it's not hard to see why it's become a wardrobe favourite. With it's bright colours and mesh décolletage, I literally feel like I could wear it anywhere and be the best dressed babe in the room.

My favourite thing about this dress (apart from the fact its available in sizes 14 to 32) is the cut. I have unbelievably short legs. I'm 165cm tall and about 120cm of that is torso. Okay, a little over exaggeration yes, but the point is that the cinch of this dress hits right at my natural waist, a modern wonder in fashion today. Never once did I feel like I was pulling or rearranging the lines of my outfit, it sat perfectly over my curves and draped in a way that I felt confident in all day- sitting or standing. Sizing wise, I'm wearing the UK24 here and it's a little big around the bust and shoulders, I think the 22 would have been a spot on fit for me.

I styled the outfit up with some basic platform heels and monochrome stripes, I'm a huge fan of floral and stripe mixing. Plus how rocking is this zebra necklace with its fluffy eyelashes, it gives me lash envy every time I look at it! Lastly, big hair, a dress this chic and classic deserves big hair!

Brand Spotlight: Scarlett & Jo Powerfit Dress

When I heard that Scarlett & Jo were making a dress with a built in mesh shape-wear lining, I was more than a little excited. A body con dress without the need to wear added suck-me-in underwear?! I was sold! The S&J team very kindly sent me over this dress to show you and from the minute I put it on, I felt like a movie star!

Belt: ASOS Curve
Clutch: BooHoo
Facinator: eQuip
Heels: Target

Spring is races and wine festival season in Australia (and no doubt the rest of the world!), so I knew exactly how I was going to style this Purple Spot Powerfit Dress up. Add some gold accessories, a flash of pink and a gorgeous headdress- a day on the green here I come!

The cut of the dress holds comfortably over my curves and the mesh lining really does support my thighs and belly area. I felt pleasantly contained without being restricted- there is still lots of movement and ease of wear in this dress. There is nothing worse than looking fabulous in a dress, yet feeling horrible in the hidden layers of shape-wear underneath!

Now I'm sure you have seen the photos already, but some of my favourite bloggers have been featured wearing these dresses- and no matter how different their body shapes or sizes, they ALL look fabulous!!!

I stole this picture from Georgina because I couldn't resists showing you how fabulous her, Bethany and Callie looked rocking their Powerfit Dresses! Seriously. That shape, that cut, that material. I'm in love!

The colour is a very diffrent look for me, but I'm really enjoying the overall sophisticated and curvaceous look to the dress. I'm also loving the cute mesh detailing above the sweetheart neckline- it gives a cheeky flash of flesh without being over the top.

Talking about colours, the Scarlett & Jo Powerfit Dresses is currently in stock in TWENTY-SIX different styles and patterns on the Evans website! All with the gorgeous necklines, flattering cuts and that amazing suck-in-yet-not-squeezed-in mesh lining! If you love the cute of the dress but aren't interested in the lining, they also do a non-mesh version for five pounds less!

And my most favourite thing about this dress?? It's available in sizes 14 to 28. Thank you Evans for making fabulous dresses available to all of us!

These are a few of the others that I have my eye on currently!

What do you think of the dress??
Do you wear shapewear often?
