OOTD: QLD Bloggers lunch

Hopefully you caught some of these photos on my Instagram feed a few weeks ago, but if not, here are some totally rad happy snaps (taken by Suger!) of our Queensland Plus Size Bloggers Meet Up! WE gathered, we ate, we drank, we laughed, we shenaniganed! It. Was. Awesome!

How amazing do all my babes look! We met down on the coast for lunch, ordered some Mexican food and a few cocktails. We then hit up the City Chic outlet shop before heading back to our hotel to party the night away! It was awesome meeting and catching up with these ladies I'd spent so much time chatting with online. And ti was so easy, conversation flowed, drinks were shared and stories exchanged! It was fabulous!

Jumpsuit: City Chic (similar here)
Jacket: Crossroads (similar here)
Flats: Ruby Shoes (these ones here!)
Necklace: Diva

I wanted to go comfy and cute so opted for the jumpsuit I've stolen off of Suger (I'll give it back someday I swear!). The day was windy so I paired it up with this bomber jacket from Crossroads and of course some cute little flats to top it off! Stylish enough for a lady-date and comfy enough to eat all the foods and drink all the things!

OOTD: Vintage Styling Event

Fifties look dresses and up-dos have always fascinated me. Its a style of fashion that I absolutely adore- and its so fabulous to see on gorgeous plus-size pin-up babes! Although a favorite look, I'm truthfully not very good at pulling it off myself. Soooooo! I was super excited when Trudie from My Vintage Childhood (another local and totally fab Aussie blogger), organised an amazing event to teach us how to do just that!

Held at Kitty's Vintage Kitsch and The Shop That Time Forgot, it was a truly amazing day! The atmosphere was very relaxed and fun as Celia taught us all about undergarments, girdles, colour matching and my most favourite lesson of the day- how to spot an authentic 50's, 60's or 70's dress!

Celia's friend Elisse was also on hand as our vintage hair and makeup specialist on the day! She talked us through pin-curls, accessorizing  make-up trends and even how to do the perfect winged eyeliner! While Sheri was our gorgeous model who let us see all these amazing vintage styles made-up in real life!

After the event was over I spent far a gorgeous hour or so pottering around Celia's amazing shop. To say I could get lost in there would be an understatement  Such an amazing collection (and all in such perfect condition) of vintage and retro goodies!

And what to wear to an event like this! Well like I said, I'm a little retro-retarded, so I thought I'd just jump in and have fun with it!

Dress: ASOS Curve
Bolero: City Chic
Tights: We Love Colors

The only thing vintage about this outfit is my pretty brooch! It originally belonged to my Nanna and I have a few similar ones in different colours that she has passed down to me. I love rummaging around in her jewelry collection- I feel like I'm in Casablanca whenever I put some them on!

The super cute dress is from ASOS Curve. I love the amazing shape it gives with all the petticoats!

Fatshion Faceoff: Funky legwear

There are some totally awesome printed jeans and floral leggings available at the moment. I love that there has almost been a revolution in regards to wearing leggings as pants. Truth though? I still always prefer stockings. I feel so comfortable in stockings that I pair them with all sorts of short hemlines! Its almost like I'm wearing stockings as pants!

When I discovered We Love Colors, it widened up my whole wardrobe to more versatility. Its fabulous being able to clash and mix several bright colours because of them; it always makes an outfit pop!

Dress: City Chic
Jacket: Forever 21+

How totally gorgeous are these accessories?! I just discovered the most amazing little shop near me-  Handmade Highstreet that sells local artists hand made wares. I spent almost an hour in there today looking at all the goodies! Just a few of the amazing pieces I picked up are this Alphabits  letter 'B' scrabble ring and this vintage clock key necklace by Owl and Sparrow Vintage. I am so in love with it!

Check out all the Fatshion Faceoff ladies in their crazy legwear!
