Aussie Curves: Yellow

Sometimes, I don't feel like getting dressed up. Sometimes I don't even feel like wearing make-up. This Sunday, was one of those mornings.  When I definitely have to go out and my head feels fluzzy and my hair needs a wash, I pull on an outfit like this. Trusty jeans, a relaxed top and colourful accessories. That surely knocks a wine or two off of my day-after swagger right?

Tank: Avella via BigW
Jeans: Torrid
Necklace: Diva
Beaded bracelet and necklace: eQuip
Thongs: Kmart
Bag: Target
Glasses: SXUC c/o Sunglasses Shop
Yellow Bangle: TS14+
Moustache Watch: eBay

So for this Aussie Curves post I'm showing how I use yellow without overdoing yellow. With a splash at the wrist and some beads on my necklace, I'm injecting some of that smiley yellow punch without being in your face. Also, yellow gold is not something I wear much, so I thought I'd double it up with the necklace and my rad moustache watch!

The bright orange bag was a bargain buy from Target for $7. Its wicked  colour always makes me happy when I wear it. And of course to comeplete this chilled Sunday morning outfit, I chuck on some thongs. These $4 beauties from Kmart come in about twenty different colours, so they are super easy (and comfy!) to slip into an outfit!

What do you wear on lazy Sunday mornings????

Fatshion Faceoff: Biker Jacket

I have one leather look biker jacket and I love it to bits. Its one of my all time favorite versatile pieces and what I instantly thought about for this weeks Fatshion Faceoff challenge!

Jacket: City Chic
Dress: Torrid
Tights: Big W
Necklace: Modcloth
Brogues: Rivers

Rather than doing a usual tough look, I girl-ed it up with the dress, lace tights and flats. I actually wore this outfit out shopping yesterday with a floral cardi- then in the evening switched it up for the leather biker jacket. I love the contrast of textures and materials. Plus that jacket rocks my socks so I love it with anything!

If you haven't already noticed, I loooooooovvveee a statement necklace! I stumbled upon this funky little Unicorn Prance Party necklace on Modcloth and bought it straight away!!! It's the perfect length, sometimes that can be a risk online shopping! There is nothing worse than ordering something that looks perfect online and then it ends up being super short and looking weird.

Check out all the babelicious biker jacket-ed Fatshion Faceoff ladies!

Fatshion Faceoff: Hair Bandana

Whenever I think of a Rockabilly style hair bandanna I always imagine that 1940's 'We Can Do It!' tough-women poster. I still remember the first time I saw it, she looked so strong and determined; like she could handle anything. I wanted to be that cool one day.......So maybe I never got that cool, but I can get inspired by her look right?!

Tunic: Autograph
Tights: Moda via BigW
Flats: Rubi
Necklace and headband: eQuip

Melissa gave me this denim tunic top earlier this year. I wasn't sure it was really me, but it's actually become somewhat of a relaxed outfit staple. It's really comfy and easy to throw on in a rush. To give it more shape, I added the belt and necklace- it also helps to draw the eye to my waist.

So I cheated a bit by using a headband instead of a proper bandana. I find that unless I bobby pin the on, bandannas slip off my head and get annoying. Luckily, you can get these knock-off-cheating 'bandannas'- much like clip-on ties! ;)

I love that it's a flash of colour in a pretty ordinary outfit- it makes it pop! And it seems to add that girly twist to an otherwise quite masculine look.

Check out all the Fatshion Faceoff Rockabilly babes!

Aussie Curves: Tribal

Aussie Curves challenge theme this week is Tribal. I saw these amazing pants by Avella at Big W not long back and snapped them up just because they were super comfy and cheap! And as it ends up, looking though my wardrobe today the whole look just fell together effortlessly around them- bargain buy win!

Jacket: Crossroads
Blouse: Kmart
Pants: Avella via BigW
Wedges: Betts
Necklace: Collete

When I think of tribal, I imagine line based prints, earthy shades with bold standouts, rope, dirt and neck collars! This Colette necklace nailed the collar on the head! It reminds me of the long neck rings worn in some African and Asian cultures- of course my Australian interpretation of the style anyway!

I seriously love the look of these pants. The print is reminiscent of tribal war-paint and the cut is almost Hammer-pants like! The red really pops against the pattern and the netting style wedge, I can't get enough of these killer Betts wedges- soooooo comfy!!!

I love how the structure of the jacket balances the free flowing top and pants. And when you have awesome deep pockets like this- no handbag!

How do you interpret a tribal theme??

OOTD: Exploring NYC

Whenever I'm travelling, I opt more for comfort than all out fabulousness; well clothes that are cute and comfy anyway! This OOTD was snapped the morning before FFFWeek started, Ben and I spent the day exploring NYC and ended up down at Pier 17 in front of the Statue of Liberty!

Top: Thick Chic Boutique
Tank: Lily and Lou
Skirt: Torrid
Tights: Big W
Sneakers: Strawberry
Bracelet: Strawberry

I couldn't resist getting a few pictures in the middles of this waterfall- it was great fun trying to beat the water!  I am totally in love with this black body-con skirt that I picked up in the Torrid sales. It's become a definite wardrobe staple!

The geometric top I bought while checking out some of the local plus size shops in LA; it's from a fab little shop Thick Chic Boutique. I wish I had some more dollars saved when we went, I would have bought the entire store!!

What do you wear when travelling??

Fatshion Faceoff: Coloured Purse

This week's Fatshion Faceoff is one of my favourite things- a coloured purse! If you are here a bit you have probably noticed how much I love funky colourful extra bits in my outfits! This week's item is one of my well loved coloured purses, but still my best go-to for an instant outfit punch!

The coolest thing about this mad purse, is that I picked it up in an Op-shop (or thrift shop as it's called in the rest of the world!) for about $5! I've probably had it for about seven years now and it's still going strong!!

Jacket: ASOS Curve
Dress: New Look Inspire
Leggings: Big W
Purse: Thrifted
Necklace: Ashley Stewart

I really can't get enough of blazers this Winter season- I've already gained quite a collection! I really like the structure this ASOS Curve jacket adds to the flowy dress. I wore this outfit out on the town for some catch up wines with local bloggy friends- man I love bloggy friends!

Melissa from Suger Coat It, Gil from Tessie Design Company, Me!, Sheri from Sheri Bomb, Lisa from Mrs BC's House of Chaos and my handsome man!

Can't wait to see the other amazing Fatshion Faceoff girls with their colourful purses!

OOTD: LA Days

We have almost been in LA for a week now and am loving soaking up all this sun! We have done loads of walking and exploring around (these particular piccys taken at the Getty Museum!) and days like that calls for comfy clothes!

Dress: Ashley Stewart
Leggings: BigW
Jacket: City Chic
Side Bag: eQuip
Thongs: Crocs

This cute little dress is one of the MANY things I've bought while being on holidays so far. It was a cheapo find at Ashley Stewart and it sits really comfortably- perfect for touristing!

I love the funky little pocket and belt detailing on the dress- it really dresses it up. When travelling I swear by side bags- it keeps my hands free for shopping and exploring!

I got some kick-ass sunburn on the second day we were here and I'm still waiting for it to heal! I've been covering up with the rocking City Chic cape, it's keeping me cool and it goes with everything!

What do you wear while on holidays????
