Aussie Curves: Yellow

Sometimes, I don't feel like getting dressed up. Sometimes I don't even feel like wearing make-up. This Sunday, was one of those mornings.  When I definitely have to go out and my head feels fluzzy and my hair needs a wash, I pull on an outfit like this. Trusty jeans, a relaxed top and colourful accessories. That surely knocks a wine or two off of my day-after swagger right?

Tank: Avella via BigW
Jeans: Torrid
Necklace: Diva
Beaded bracelet and necklace: eQuip
Thongs: Kmart
Bag: Target
Glasses: SXUC c/o Sunglasses Shop
Yellow Bangle: TS14+
Moustache Watch: eBay

So for this Aussie Curves post I'm showing how I use yellow without overdoing yellow. With a splash at the wrist and some beads on my necklace, I'm injecting some of that smiley yellow punch without being in your face. Also, yellow gold is not something I wear much, so I thought I'd double it up with the necklace and my rad moustache watch!

The bright orange bag was a bargain buy from Target for $7. Its wicked  colour always makes me happy when I wear it. And of course to comeplete this chilled Sunday morning outfit, I chuck on some thongs. These $4 beauties from Kmart come in about twenty different colours, so they are super easy (and comfy!) to slip into an outfit!

What do you wear on lazy Sunday mornings????

Aussie Curves: Tribal

Aussie Curves challenge theme this week is Tribal. I saw these amazing pants by Avella at Big W not long back and snapped them up just because they were super comfy and cheap! And as it ends up, looking though my wardrobe today the whole look just fell together effortlessly around them- bargain buy win!

Jacket: Crossroads
Blouse: Kmart
Pants: Avella via BigW
Wedges: Betts
Necklace: Collete

When I think of tribal, I imagine line based prints, earthy shades with bold standouts, rope, dirt and neck collars! This Colette necklace nailed the collar on the head! It reminds me of the long neck rings worn in some African and Asian cultures- of course my Australian interpretation of the style anyway!

I seriously love the look of these pants. The print is reminiscent of tribal war-paint and the cut is almost Hammer-pants like! The red really pops against the pattern and the netting style wedge, I can't get enough of these killer Betts wedges- soooooo comfy!!!

I love how the structure of the jacket balances the free flowing top and pants. And when you have awesome deep pockets like this- no handbag!

How do you interpret a tribal theme??

Aussie Curves: Leggings

This weeks Aussie Curves post was too easy- leggings seem to make up 50% of my wardrobe! Now, I read a pretty nasty post by a fashion blogger the other day, who said that leggings can never be a fashion item...... Well I think it's all about how you wear them! Fashion is about self expression and I happen to love rocking some black (or brightly coloured!) leggings!!

Leggings: Avella via BigW
Tunic: Yours Clothing
Jacket: Target
Necklace and Beanie: Equip
Heels: Torrid

I love leggings. Seriously. They go with everything, are super comfy and crazy cheap! Whats not to love?! There are so many styles available now too, I have all different lengths and embellishments. These ones have a funky ankle zip detail but I have others with studs, lace, leather strips, cut-outs and even rad patterns!

Don't you think there is something effortlessly cool about a mid-thigh mac jacket- even better, this jacket was a freebie from Suger Coat It!

So tell me, what do you think of leggings??
Fashion statement or fashion faux pas???

Fatshion Faceoff: Coloured Shoes

For this week's Fatshion Faceoff, Dani chose coloured shoes! This post is pretty exciting because I had just picked up these gorgeous new Betts shoes for Full Figured Fashion Week!

I'm trying to limit my purchases before we leave for NYC, because I know I'll be getting some serious shop-on over there! But, I couldn't resist these suede beauties!

Tunic: City Chic
Tights: Avella
Shoes: Betts
Bangles: Style369
Necklace: Mombasa

I love this tunic; it's so comfortable and relaxed, yet so easily dressed up. But honestly, these shoes are so fab, they make anything look dressed up! ;)

I'm giving some serious thought to picking those shoes up in black too- they are extremely comfortable. I really don't have enough coloured shoes.

Check out the other Fatshion Faceoff girls in their coloured shoes too!

Holiday Diary: Entry Two & OOTD

Local Time: 2:40pm
Location: On the bus to Germany
Tomorrow we will be in: Munich

We left Amsterdam this morning and I'm currently ignoring a very impressive hangover! The last few days we:

- Caught the ferry across The English Channel and were amazed by the White Cliffs of Dover and the awe inspiring scenery
-Made the epic journey through Belgium and France to The Netherlands
- Rocked the nightlife in Amsterdam and tried a little of everything ;)
- Saw a live 'erotic' show (!!!!!) and both Ben and I were picked from the audience to participate in the stripper side shows lol
- Went on a cruise through the Amsterdam canals. Including kissing under the famous 'skinny bridge' which legend says will make your love last forever (awwww)
- Explored Amsterdam today and picked up the coolest souvenir- a mad furry bear beanie with paws!
- Been super lucky with the weather- haven't needed our thermals yet!

I've been basically living in variations of the same outfit; it's warm, comfortable and cute. I'm loving this jacket I picked up on eBay before we left for about $30- bargain! Mind you, after the debauchery in Amsterdam, it could really do with a wash!

Jacket: City Chic, Jeans: City Chic, Tee: Avella, Beanie: Amsterdam Markets

Tonight on to Germany with a beir stein in hand! Cheers/Prost!!!

Basic me up baby!

On the clear out of my wardrobe I've noticed my curious lack of basic, everyday clothes. Apparently all my basics and shorts have been lost in a sea of cocktail dresses, plunging tunic tops and high waisted dress skirts. Hmmmmm.......So on a spot of  late night shopping, we headed out (spending a soon-to-expire gift card) and picked me up some groovy basic tees.

The best bit about these tops, is that they were $15 each from BigW's new range 'Avella', I'm loving it's cute and casual, chic look!

These are great tees for the transition from Winter to Spring, perfect for layering or cute on their own! I like the grey zebra print scoop neck the best. The zebra pattern is slightly sheer and it adds to the already funky look of the top; plus there is a super cute little pocket on the left breast. Ben favours the purple stripe top (it is pretty spiffy). Once upon of a time I loved the trusty old v-neck, but I think I've grown to like a deeper neckline better. Either way, I'm really digging all these cute styles, they scream 'adventures at the beach' or 'lazy dog walks on Sunday avo'.Come on Summer!!! Siiigghhhhhhh
