OOTD: Playsuit

I have a love-hate relationship with play suits. Admittedly much more love than hate. I actually I adore them, but finding the right type to suit my body shape is where the feelings get less than friendly. I have a long torso, round mid-section and wide thighs, as such, I often find that play-suits sit awkwardly on me. I saw this Yours Clothing floral playsuit in a Summer teaser and it looked like it would suit my shape perfectly. It stuck in my memory so long, that when the team asked me if anything took my fancy, I jumped at the chance of giving this cute piece a go!

Playsuit, stockings and jacket: c/o Yours Clothing
Clutch and necklace: Colette

Firstly, let my start by addressing this photo of my shoes. See those toes? Oh yes. My stockings are inside out. As comfy as these tights are, toe stitching drives me up the wall!  I find that the higher the denier, the tougher the toe stitching is, but I figure its worth it for the deep black colouring and the confidence of knowing you can't see my undies through them! Inside out stockings can be our little secret! ;)

As you can see by the photos, the suit did not disappoint! It really is perfect! I'm wearing a UK size 24-26 here (AUS size 22-24) and the elastic middle-band sits right on my natural waist. I love the deep neckline and eye-catching print. I always feel most comfortable in outfits that draw a lot of attention, crazy but true. The shorts have a very subtle flare which gives them an awesome flow and movement when walking.

I often wear play-suits as a casual item, so I thought I'd change things up a bit and make this an evening outfit. We went out for drinks with some of my girlfriends last weekend and I added the jacket and stockings for a more dressy feel. This waterfall leather jacket (size 22) really toughens up the look without being too structured and it kept the night chill away. How cool are the gold zips and zip pulls, little details like this make it so much more than just an ordinary throw on jacket. I kept the gold accents going by accessorizing (bagarizing?) with this large, metallic clutch' its my go to piece for upping the glam!

What do you think of play-suits??

OOTD: Date night

This weekend flew by in another crazy blur and all of sudden it has disappeared. I didn't get to see much of Ben because I drove up to Gympie to stay at Suger's house and do some girly stuff- which included getting my makeup trial for the wedding! When I arrived home on Sunday night I made the most of my made up face for a date night out (we saw the new Captain America movie at the cinema, LOVED IT! And that man candy, mmmmmhmmm!)! And with a pretty face- you need a pretty dress!

Dress: c/o Yours Clothing
Belt: Forever 21+
Shoes: Payless
Facinator: Alannah Hill
Bag: BooHoo

This gorgeous flocked Peter Pan collar dress has been sitting in the front of my wardrobe for the last few weeks taunting me. I haven't had a chance to wear it and do it justice. But with my lovely makeup and a afternoon out on the cards, I knew it was perfect. Sure I was a little done up for the shops and the cinema (facinator and all), but I was loved up and dressed up!

I love the skater style, it hides a multitude of tummy sins and this dress holds that shape perfectly. It has a lovely little flare which gives that instant feminine look. I didn't want to accessorize too much, the dress is already such an eye-catching piece, it doesn't need it.  I added the pink pumps and clutch to set off the gorgeous colour. I loved the clash of the pink, purple and coral together, the dress is so vibrant and even after washing, maintains that fabulous bold coral.

Do you colour clash??

OOTD: Sunday afternoon

I've bought a few pieces from Yours Clothing in the past and have always been super happy with the cut, fit and quality of their clothes. So when they contacted me for a review, I of course, jumped at the chance!

Top and Skirt: c/o Yours Clothing
Tights and Belt: City Chic
Clutch: Betts
Shoes: Kmart

I've been hunting around for a little denim skirt that's easy to wear everyday and this cute skater hit the spot perfectly! Its made from a lightweight cotton that will easily transition between the seasons but without being too thin that you need to worry about it looking transparent or blowing away. I belted it up at waist height and added some comfy flats so I could rock this look all day!

I adore this gorgeous lace blouse! The bust detail is super eye catching and ultra  feminine. The pale pink is a colour I don't  normally wear, but I think this actually plays off well with my skin tone.

Size wise, the top is a UK22 and the skirt is a UK26. The blouse fits spot on but the skirt was too big- its worth sizing up though as it does run small, I reckon the 24 would have fit me perfectly. The blouse has a lovely tapered out fit to it which gives extra room over your hips (always one of my problem areas), so I think I'm going to have to go snap up both the other colours as well!

I wanted to add in a bit of bold colour with this floral clutch and I couldn't resist these new spotty tights to top off the cuteness factor. The rad little unicorn cameo ring was a last minute addition that I had picked up from a local designer at the markets, how totally cool is it?!

Have you bought anything from Yours Clothing before?

Aussie Curves: Leggings

This weeks Aussie Curves post was too easy- leggings seem to make up 50% of my wardrobe! Now, I read a pretty nasty post by a fashion blogger the other day, who said that leggings can never be a fashion item...... Well I think it's all about how you wear them! Fashion is about self expression and I happen to love rocking some black (or brightly coloured!) leggings!!

Leggings: Avella via BigW
Tunic: Yours Clothing
Jacket: Target
Necklace and Beanie: Equip
Heels: Torrid

I love leggings. Seriously. They go with everything, are super comfy and crazy cheap! Whats not to love?! There are so many styles available now too, I have all different lengths and embellishments. These ones have a funky ankle zip detail but I have others with studs, lace, leather strips, cut-outs and even rad patterns!

Don't you think there is something effortlessly cool about a mid-thigh mac jacket- even better, this jacket was a freebie from Suger Coat It!

So tell me, what do you think of leggings??
