OOTD: Florals and yellow hurrah!

So, I'm not going to rant your ear off about how much I love eShakti (which is crazy amounts!). I will however point you in the direction of where I've totally fan-girl-ed about them before - here, here and here! But seriously, with everything available in sizes 0 to 36, fully customizable, vintage styling, amazing prints and loads of different fabrics... what's not to rave about!? But yes,on to the fashion and stuff!

Top: Autograph
Skirt: eShakti c/o
Wedges: Lane Bryant
Clutch: ASOS via Curvy Cartel
Earrings: Real Diva's Are Large

This amazing ultra high waisted skirt just blows my mind. The print is absolutely divine, with those bold reds, greens and blues, you can pretty much dress it up with anything. The material is a thick crepe but without the weight, its still got plenty of movement without losing its shape.

The silhouette is amazing. I feel like I could be bum-wiggling around an office in Mad Men! I kept the length at a knee length for that feminine look but now that I have it, I love the idea that it can be shortened to a mini before you purchase. I would love that funky floral print in a cute little mini! Best bit of all though- pockets! A babe with pockets is pretty much unstoppable! ;)

I wore this outfit for a full day out on the town and at the end of the day, I was still comfy in this skirt! I wanted to play off the colours by adding this killer yellow ASOS clutch and Lane Bryant shoes. The clutch fits everything (even my ipad!) and is great for packing my whole life into. Mind you, with pockets I carry all those small essentials without (lippy, phone and keycard!) without having to even bother clawing around inside my clutch! Fashion winning!

What do you think of skirts with pockets?

Fatshion Faceoff: Lane Bryant Skater Dress

These 'One-Dress-on-Five-Ladies' outfits are my absolute favourite kind of Fatshion Faceoff post. If you've happened to have a squiz over all of our blogs, you would have probably noticed that Dani, Hanna, Mouna, Mhairi and I all have very different styles, different seasons and very different body shapes. I genuinely love seeing how we all rock our one dress in our varying styles!

Dress: c/o Lane Bryant
Belt: ASOS Curve
Shoes: Betts
Necklace: Diva
Bag: Thrifted
Hat: Target

This gorgeous little Skater Sweater Dress was very kindly given to us from Lane Bryant. Now I'm not going to lie, remember what I said about different seasons? We are having a unusually hot Spring days here in Brisbane at the moment- I'm talking 36°C (or 97°F) and the mention of a 'sweater dress' made me quake in my air-conditioned lounge room. But this dress is so surprisingly light that I could comfortably wear it for most of this sunny day! Paired with some funky accessories and these ultra-fabulous retro school shoes, I was ready to head to breakfast with my ladies!

We have just watched The Great Gatsby, so I was inspired to buy this geometric gold-leaf-like belt. Its a kind of geometric style I rarely wear, but I'm loving the way the overall look came together with the art deco belt and hat and the 1960-70's dress and bag! Its like a clash of fashion generations!

My favourite thing about this dress is the non-iron shape and material. No matter how fabulous an item of clothing is, if its high maintenance to look after, it often ends in the hardly worn pile. I have an ingrained hatred of ironing (TANGENT: I think it has a lot to do with the fact my high school uniform was a 'must-iron-before-every-wear' blouse. Seriously. How annoying. Couldn't I have spent more time learning and less irnoning?!) so find myself drawn to the more easy care fabrics.

I am incredibly excited to see what all the FF babes come up with this week so as always please check us all out!

Aussie Curves: Peplum

I swear the minute peplums came back into shops I was all over them. They are one of the few fashion styles that I well and truly embraced. I couldn't even tell you how many peplum styles things I have now! The fit and flare in the perfect place for me- I seriously cannot get enough of them! You've seen me (too) many times in the old pencil skirt and peplum top combo, so I thought I'd mix it up for this post and wear a peplum skirt!

Skirt: eShakti
Top: Torrid
Wedges: Lane Bryant
Bag: eQuip

To be completely honest, there is nothing special about this outfit. We were running some Saturday afternoon errands and I slipped this skirt on because its comfy and easy to wear. The wedges were a last minute decision so I looked at least a little more dressed up! I have no makeup on and my hair isn't brushed- but I'm not too fussed because I'm 'outfit distracting' you with bold colours and a peplum hem- or at least, that's what I tell myself! ;)

How do you feel about peplum??

OOTD: Afternoon in the city

I wish I had endless funds and could just lunch and sip cocktails all day. Heck, who probably doesn't wish that, at least for a little while?! The beginning of the weekend (or whatever day is the start of 'my weekend'- shift working means I could be working any days, anytime!) is the best: I always love that feeling of hitting the town knowing you have the next couple of days off. I can drink what I want, lunch and sip cocktails, stay up as late as I want and I don't even have to wash my hair if I don't feel like it (TMI anyone??)!! That first night off always has the best feeling of freedom with it! And it's often the one we end up properly hitting the town on.

This particular outfit was worn on the beginning of a very rad weekend off and a night out with some of my girlfriends!

Pants: Harlow
Top: Lily and Lou via Best and Less
Platforms: TBA Shoes
Necklace: Stefan
Clutch: Kmart
(and since it's properly drawing some attention, the bra is from Sara)

I snapped these pictures just as we were leaving (TANGENT: How I wish my hair would stay that perfect for longer. I swear, I start the night with luscious locks and an hour or so later it looks like a lanky mop. I need to try out some new hair products!). I'm all sorts of smiley over these rad Harlow capris, the colour is such a vivid, almost acid green and purple. And they have a proper fly and button closure, something I've missed tailoring-wise since embracing the leggings as pants revolution.

I have been using this clutch like crazy lately. I'm a chronic handbag swapper, so usually swap and change regularly, but you've probably seen this beauty in my last few posts. I love the stud detailing with the basic black; I'd been in desperate need of a more versatile bag like this. There is only so many outfits a bright yellow or pink clutch can go with! And it tones down the boldness of the hot pink belt and wicked purple platforms!  Which by the way, how totally cool are those shoes?!

What's your favourite time of the week??

FFFWeek: Lane Bryant Blogger Conference

Day three of the FFFWeek started early with the Lane Bryant blogger conference. If you remember back, a few months ago, Lane Bryant offered bloggers a chance to style an outfit their own way in LB fashions (check out my outfit here!). Then this was the day we were all able to get together and have a chat about it, check out the flag ship store and see whats coming next for Lane Bryant.

Catching up with Dani, Hanna and Mouna

Hanging out with Bec and Georgette

I was insanely impressed with the lighting in the change rooms- there was a button on the mirror to change the light so you can see how your outfit would look during the day. Isn't that the raddest thing you've ever heard of?!!?

Parker is pretty much the coolest chick around! On the last night, Georgette and I ended up in her hotel room having fruity cocktails! Good times!!

After we had all filled up on a scrumptious breakfast, we were given plenty of time to mingle, explore the store and chat with the other ladies. The flag-ship store between 7th and 8th street is literally the most beautiful plus-size shop I've ever been in. The two story wonder is easy to navigate with plenty of room and displays. And I never once felt cramped or like I needed to do that awkward squeeze around the racks to get passed someone, even with all of us giggling and mingling! There were change rooms on both floors  and each set had plenty of catwalk space to strut in the outfits AND comfy lounges for shopping partners (a huge tick for Ben when he shops with me!). The photo above was taken off of the second floor balcony!

I was extremely impressed with the mannequin displays and the way the outfits were styled together. Its great to see the pieces decorating the walls and giving that visible style advice! I actually saw some of the girls pick an outfit based exactly on what the mannequin was wearing! It was so refreshing to see a plus-size shop styled up and proud like the Lane Bryant flag ship!

We then headed back to the Affinia and were given a sneak peak of whats to come for Lane Bryant next season. They also gave us lots of time for questioning and the bloggers did not hold back! There was lots of discussion about sizing, cuts and colours and the Lane Bryant team really took on board what we were saying. Having a brand that is so responsive and eager to change for the needs of the consumer is exactly what we need. I can't wait to see what the next six months brings for them!

I'm OBSESSED with the Cacique bras!! I seriously wear them everyday. Apart from my work bras ( purely because I like my boobs to look flat not fabulous when working!), they are under every one of my outfits!

Top: Forever 21+
Skirt: City Chic
Belt: New Look Inspire
Clutch: Target
Necklace: Modcloth
Tights: We Love Colors
Flats: Rubi

I couldn't wait to bust out this Forever 21+ floral top! I adore the colours and couldn't resist pairing it with my favourite bold clutch. Add a unicorn necklace and I was ready to go!

Have you tried Lane Bryant's collections??
