Holiday update

(For those just tuning in, Ben and I are planning our trip of a lifetime at the end of this year- for which, we have given up house and home, put all our stuff in storage and are couch surfing until we leave! A stop in Kuala Lumpur for a few days, a Contiki tour of Europe, a week in Paris at Christmas, a Contiki tour of Amsterdam at NYE, a week with no plans (yet), then another Contiki tour of Egypt before heading home! Ekkkk!! Hints, tips and suggestions greatly appreciated! :-)

Just a little update on our holiday plans! We officially just booked the last week of our trip with the Egypt Contiki tour and our flights home! Whoott!!! I actually think I may be getting more excited about the Egypt leg rather than the Europe visit. There is something so mind blowing about the idea of actually looking up at the Sphinx and marvelling at the pyramids. So anyway, Egypt required a travel visa- which required those horrible no smile face photos. I swear I have never seen anyone look any good in those pictures. In fact, I almost look like a serial killer. Check out our visa photos:

Oh my goodness, look at those. I swear If I look close enough I can picture us holding those little black boards with all the numbers on them- classic mug shots! I almost don't recognise myself without a big toothy smile taking up 3/4 of my face! ;)

To other exciting holiday news (well for me anyway lol), I also purchased my first thermals! I think I am seriously underestimating how cold it will be over there. I have all these beautiful visions in my head of us in Paris at Christmas time with me still in dresses and thongs! Anyway, I was so happy with these two thermals I picked up:

The pink set under my dress is from Anaconda (and snapped up in a half price sale!) and the rocking rainbow set is from Mountain Designs. Don't worry- Ben's sets are black ;)

Do you guys have anything rad planned for the future??

September wrap up

In August we packed up our house for storage in preparation for our Europe holiday in Decembers. One of the hardest things to pack away was my extensive wardrobe. It's sad not being able to dance around amongst my epic piles of fabulous fashions before deciding on an outfit. So, having quite a few pre-RSVP'd events coming up I tried a little outfit planning to save some time.

Here is the final wrap up:

 Kirsties's 21st
I ended up wearing my rocking DD strawberry dressed and loved it! I ordered these dresses instead of my first Forever 21 haul.

Nanna Lunch
I was so horribly sick when my Nanna was visiting, but managed to pull it all together with this cute outfit. Note the extremely sexy febrile sweat- hot stuff! (get it..get it??! lol)

Ben's Birthday
Ben's espionage party got put on the back-burner for a few weeks because of all the horrible moving packing. We did however have a romantic dinner out together then a snuggle movie night. This rocking romper is my favourite house wear- love it!

Dan & Kelli's Wedding
Again my planned outfit was meant to be from my Forever 21 haul that didn't happen. But this gorgeous City Chic outfit is my go to 'feel-fabulous' dress. I love the colours, the cut and I always have an amazing night in it!

Joce & Joel's Engagement Party
I usually get my costumes from By Costumes in the USA, but I feel in love with this versatile leprechaun outfit from Costume Box (beer wench/maid/peasant/octoberfest/Saint Patricks Day- seriously!! It's the ultimate outfit!! ;). I was so happy with the quality of it and the whole costume looked super cute!

Saturday night Shenanigans
Seriosuly my new favourite dress. New dress (snapped up at 38% off) and hot new hair- outfit win!!

So overall I think I did okay. As something I've never done before, I believe that the outfit planning did ultimately save time as I did a whole lot less last minute deciding (and re-deciding); and I think it's something I'll try again in the future. Do you guys plan any outfits in advance??

(as a side note, all the stockings in these pictures are from We Love Colors- if you don't have any yet- GET SOME NOW!!!! Most.comfortable.tights. EVER!)

OOTD: Last planned outfit!!

I attended my final event that I included in my September Outfit Planning post- and for the first time I got it bang on!!

I met up with some mates for a few games of pool before heading out on the town.

Ben's parents suprised us with an overnight flying vist on their way home to Victoria, so they ended up tagging along on our night out too!!

Dress: City Chic, Stockings: We Love Colors, Flats: KMart

I styled my hair for the first time with my own products and am really liking the rock look I'm getting from all the new layers!

I wore my City Chic dress that I picked up in the 38% off sale and I am totally in love with it! I adore the way it sits over my bust, and the satin top with velvet skirt give such an awesome clash of textures.

I also wore my new ballet flats from KMart that I got for $12! No specials, just $12 full price! sweeeettt! :)

Tomorrow I'm going to do a wrap up of how well I did with my outfit planning- stay tuned!
