OOTD: Date night

This weekend flew by in another crazy blur and all of sudden it has disappeared. I didn't get to see much of Ben because I drove up to Gympie to stay at Suger's house and do some girly stuff- which included getting my makeup trial for the wedding! When I arrived home on Sunday night I made the most of my made up face for a date night out (we saw the new Captain America movie at the cinema, LOVED IT! And that man candy, mmmmmhmmm!)! And with a pretty face- you need a pretty dress!

Dress: c/o Yours Clothing
Belt: Forever 21+
Shoes: Payless
Facinator: Alannah Hill
Bag: BooHoo

This gorgeous flocked Peter Pan collar dress has been sitting in the front of my wardrobe for the last few weeks taunting me. I haven't had a chance to wear it and do it justice. But with my lovely makeup and a afternoon out on the cards, I knew it was perfect. Sure I was a little done up for the shops and the cinema (facinator and all), but I was loved up and dressed up!

I love the skater style, it hides a multitude of tummy sins and this dress holds that shape perfectly. It has a lovely little flare which gives that instant feminine look. I didn't want to accessorize too much, the dress is already such an eye-catching piece, it doesn't need it.  I added the pink pumps and clutch to set off the gorgeous colour. I loved the clash of the pink, purple and coral together, the dress is so vibrant and even after washing, maintains that fabulous bold coral.

Do you colour clash??

OOTD: Sunday afternoon

I've bought a few pieces from Yours Clothing in the past and have always been super happy with the cut, fit and quality of their clothes. So when they contacted me for a review, I of course, jumped at the chance!

Top and Skirt: c/o Yours Clothing
Tights and Belt: City Chic
Clutch: Betts
Shoes: Kmart

I've been hunting around for a little denim skirt that's easy to wear everyday and this cute skater hit the spot perfectly! Its made from a lightweight cotton that will easily transition between the seasons but without being too thin that you need to worry about it looking transparent or blowing away. I belted it up at waist height and added some comfy flats so I could rock this look all day!

I adore this gorgeous lace blouse! The bust detail is super eye catching and ultra  feminine. The pale pink is a colour I don't  normally wear, but I think this actually plays off well with my skin tone.

Size wise, the top is a UK22 and the skirt is a UK26. The blouse fits spot on but the skirt was too big- its worth sizing up though as it does run small, I reckon the 24 would have fit me perfectly. The blouse has a lovely tapered out fit to it which gives extra room over your hips (always one of my problem areas), so I think I'm going to have to go snap up both the other colours as well!

I wanted to add in a bit of bold colour with this floral clutch and I couldn't resist these new spotty tights to top off the cuteness factor. The rad little unicorn cameo ring was a last minute addition that I had picked up from a local designer at the markets, how totally cool is it?!

Have you bought anything from Yours Clothing before?

OOTD: Almost Chanel

Hope you all had a totally spoiled and indulgent long Easter weekend! I love that with holidays comes family meetups, parties, shenanigans and of course- plenty of excuses to get dressed up! On Friday afternoon Ben and I met up with some of his mates in town and it was just that little bit cool out, perfect for my new vintage-Chanel look jacket!

Jacket: c/o BooHoo plus size
Top: City Chic
Skirt: Cut for Evans
Shoes: Target
Mini Bag: Furla
Sunnies: Thrifted 1970's awesomeness

I've come to the conclusion that I don't wear enough weight. I'm not going to lie, I can still hear some of that 'fat-girls-don't-look-good-in-white' stigma in my head. Stupid but true. But this BooHoo jacket has changed me! I felt classic, feminine and sexy wearing this beauty. I adore the contrast trim and structured styling, it really is so very retro Chanel!

I can't resist a shoe sale and sad but true, these shoes are too big. I picked them up for some ridiculous bargain price at Target, telling myself I'll just tighten them up and it will all be fine. But no, after an hour in them my feet were flopping around stupidly and I was kicking myself for giving into their gorgeousness. They have such a cute little heel that is (normally, you know, when you buy the right size) easy to wear. But alas, they did end up in my hand rather than on my feet pretty quickly. But damn they look pretty!

OOTD: Body-con me baby!

On Sunday afternoon Ben and I met up with his groomsmen in the city so we could order thier suits for the wedding. I've been wanting to show this killer BooHoo dress off and what better excuse than a day out in town!

Dress: BooHoo c/o
Jacket: City Chic
Necklace: Colette
Clutch: Kate Hill
Flatforms: Betts

Size wise, this is a UK 24 and pretty much fits like a glove. I normally wear an Aussie size 20-22, so I reckon the BooHoo plus-size fits slightly on the smaller size. On that note though, I'm quite round in the belly, so I often find body-con styles less roomy in that area. I'm keen to get my hands on some of the skater dress styles and see how they fit, some of them are super cute!

I love the sequin print with the bold blues- its so easy to style up. It was chilly that afternoon so I (stupidly) didn't take my jacket off so you could see the extremely flattering hourglass pattern with black panels. And flattering is not a word I use lightly at all, its a shit word, but yes, this dress shaves a good few sizes off of my waist with its optical illusion.

I figure if I'm getting dressed up I may as well do it all the way so I threw on my favourite, trusty leather jacket and my amazing Betts flatforms. I can't get enough of these beauties recently. I used to wear flatforms all the time back in my early teens (Spice Girls crazy and all!) and I've just gotten back into them recently. I've whinged more than enough about how I don't like heels (even though I wear them because I love the look of them- isn't that ridiculous? Pain for beauty eh?!), so I'm loving the extra COMFY height!

What do you think of body-con?

Curvy Couture Roadshow: Runway Three

The third runway of the Curvy Couture Roadshow featured lingerie and vintage and retro inspired designers. I'm not going to lie, watching these runways made we want to re-define my entire style, I loved the sexy yet demure vintage looks!

Sonsee

I can't wait to get my hands on some of Sonsee's super stretchy hosifrey. I wear a lot of outfits featuring stockings (primarily because I'm decidedly unco and fall over a lot.  That and I love short outfits- stockings give me the confidence to rock them without crutch flashing!) and know these beauties are going to become firm wardrobe favourites!

Miss Scarlett Did It

I loved the look of Miss Scarlett Did It's gorgeous lingerie. Having a perfectly fitting bra makes such a difference to the fit of an outfit- and when that bra is also pretty, well, it makes for outfit perfection! The cute little accents, sheer panels and bows made for ultra fabulous pieces! I loved them! Plus, the models did such an amazing job showing them off, I was proud to see those beautiful plus-size women owning the runway!

The Professor's Daughter

Polkadots, stripes and bold colours! I die! I was ready to leap out of my seat and throw my credit card at their feet! I couldn't get enough of the pretty, polished pieces. I even adore the name, The Professor's Daughter straight away put me in the mind of the classic 1940's fashions, bold and feminine. Those gorgeous swing jackets are calling my name- Love!

Bombshell Vintage

Bombshell Vintage showed some truly gorgeous pieces. That hounds tooth jackets and that sequin dress litterally awed the crowd, I heard almost every voice these raised in 'oohhs' and 'ahhs'! It was a lovely way to finish the third runway- classic and beautiful!
