Fatshion Faceoff: Simply Be dress

I am so, so excited about this weeks Fatshion Faceoff challenge! One of the coolest things about these posts, is that we all have such different body shapes and our own personal style. So how rad would it be to see us all rocking one dress in our own unique ways! Well the lovely team at Simply Be have sponsored our post so we can do just that!

Dress: Simply Be (gifted)
Belt: ASOS Curve
Heels: Torrid
Bag and Earrings: Thrifted market finds!

When I opened the wrapping on this gorgeous dress, the first thing I noticed was the amazing quality. Its made of a perfect weight cotton and spandex that gives it just the right amount of drape and shape. I love the way it hugs my waist and then gently flares out. The cap sleeves have the perfect amount of coverage for the dress to transition for Summer to Winter too!

What I love most about the dress is the amazing colours. Its so vibrant and bright- a real head turner. These piccys were taken after dinner and are quite late at night; during the day the colours are electric!

I am so excited to see all the Fatshion Faceoff ladies in their Simply Be dress! Go check them all out and let us know what you think!

Lust List: Summer Time!

The Summer time sales are driving me crazy! My inbox is full of tempting emails, the shops have huge gorgeous % off signs and every brand seems to have something new and exciting! I'm trying my absolute bestest to behave and not spend- but I sure have been doing a whole lot of window shopping!

1. Cult of California Rebirth Dress in Fiery Red  2. Pinkalicious Jelly Bean Sandals 3. Mod Cloth World Class Cookie Cutter Set 4. Domino Dollhouse Babydoll Dress in Galaxy 5. Colette Natasha Cross Body Bag 6. Shop Emerald City Rainbow Dash Leggings 7. City Chic Strappy Colourwash Top 8. Virtu Harlequin Skirt

Every time Domino Dollhouse come out with a new collection, I get even more suprised! Part one of their new Astralnauts range has just been announced and I am totally in love with the babydoll dresses!! This galaxy print is amazing!

So how amazingly awesome are these Jelly Beans Sandals!! I had a pair when I was about 10- but now I can get adult sized ones!!! And in Pinkalicious?!??! YAYYYYY!!!

Virtu make the most perfect skirts. The shape, quality and style make these beauties a definite investment. I've been looking for a fitted, striped pencil skirt for ages. They are such an effortlessly chic wardrobe essential.

Soooo, haven't seem me online for a while? It's probably because I've gotten lost on Modcloth.  This totally rad country cookie cutter is half the price that I saw it in a local shop! There is something for everyone on that website, so if you're stuck for Chrissy presents- jump online now! But make sure you set an alarm because your window shopping time will fly by!

I audibly squealed when I saw that Cult of California had released a party-wear Holiday collection. With peplum, velvet, sheer panels and sequins I want two of everything! Even better, the intuitive designs have funky added details like inbuilt chafe shorts- GENIUS!!

What are you lusting after at the moment???

Fatshion Faceoff: Band Tee

When this Fatshion Faceoff challenge came up, it wasn't going to be a matter of what shirt I was going to wear- it was which one!! Amongst my collection of grungy and rock band shirts, I have an epic pile of Pearl Jam tees. A branded tour-tee is the first thing I buy at a merchandise tent and at a PJ concert, I'll usually buy two!

Jeans: Torrid
Tee: Pearl Jam
Shoes: Strawberry
Jacket: City Chic

I always feel instantly tough the minute I wear a band tee. Like I have 'street-cred' straight away. A rough trouble-maker look always seems to fall together well when I start with a rock shirt. And my leather look jacket always feels like second skin in these types of outfits.

Although I love being able to slip back into my relaxed Uni days style, I like to think I put a more feminine twist on it these days. The skinny, ankle-cropped Torrid jeans are my girly interpretation of rock pants, while the sparkly converse inspired sneakers add extra sparkle!

Check out all my ladies in their band tees!

Aussie Curves: Strapless

I actually really love strapless. Its a style I've well and truly embraced these last 5 years or so, especially with these shattering Queensland Summers we get! I have however, written about how I wasn't always this arm bearingly confident in the past. Looking in my wardrobe now though- you have to hunt to find something not arm bearing!

Top: City Chic
Belt: Swapped at PSFWA
Shoes, Skirt and Ring: swapped with Fashion Hayley

I am so in love with this skirt and these shoes! They were snapped up at the Plus Size Fashion Weekend Australia clothes swap and are so different to anything I would probably ever buy myself. Funny thing though, I've worn them twice since getting back on Sunday!!

The skirt has such a fab Summery style and of course- POCKETS!! The top is an old fav from City Chic (I also have it in pink!), but its always on high rotation during warmer months. Together they almost give off a safari vibe.

I'm a huge belt fan and love throwing one over my outfits for more waist definition. This black patent look one will go with so much- I literally dived across the room to make it mine.

Do you feel comfortable in strapless tops??

Fatshion Faceoff: Polka Dot Top

This weeks Fatshion Faceoff theme was my pick, polkadots! I've gone a little polka-dot-crazy these last few months and I actually have this top in two colours! I decided to wait and see on the day what colour I was feeling like- it was a green day!

Tee: Lily and Lou
Jacket: Forever 21+
Tights: M Line
Loafers: Nicked from my sister

I like the masculine feel to this outfit. Its also one of those ones looks that is easy to pull together quickly and without to much worry. The structure of the jacket balances out the casual (and crinkled) tee while the cute polka dots still give it a feminine feel.

Check out how all the Fatshion Faceoff babes style their polkadots!

Aussie Curves: Pastel

So I don't seem to have a huge amount of pastel wear. One of the reasons I love hot pink is because it seems to bring out the glow in my skin, pastels in general seem to make me feel a bit blugh. A bit washed out? I do however have a bit of a stripe obsession  (or really any geometrically equal shaped prints!) so I was able to unearthed this beauty from the back of the wardrobe!

Top: City Chic
Skirt: No Exceptions
Brooch: Bunny Hornet
Necklace: Colette
Bracelet: Strawberry

I really like that the Aussie Curves posts are helping me look at my wardrobe in a new light. Sometimes all you need is that extra push to challenge yourself into styling your clothes in fresh ways. And even more so- taking your own style to new places.

I like to emphasize my waist and as such have quite a few of these almost bust sweeping skirts from No Exceptions. The style makes my somewhat apple shaped middle section look more hourglass. And the contrasting colors really help bring the whole 'illusion' together.

This kind of outfit can easily be stereotyped into that corporate-office look. The pastel adds a hint of cheekiness and the silver spikes punk it up a bit.

I had to add in this last shot- I am so in love with the view off my deck! ;)

I adore the little UFO brooch (another local-artist purchase from Bunny Hornet), it makes me smile every-time I look at it. THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE.

Do you wear pastel colours much?

Fatshion Faceoff: Printed Dress

So, it's official. I have a severe lack of printed dresses. I have lots of spots, lots of floral and lots of lines, but no proper cool printed ones!

I had a big hunt through the wardrobe and chose this gorgeous dress. I know its floral, but it also has a rad texture mix with a faux denim bust and ruffle and button details! I thought that was a pretty cool combo- and an awesome dress for these warm lazy days.

Dress: Torrid
Bracelets: Torrid, City Chic, TS14+

I like that the outfit is so simple yet has so much going on. I added the bracelets to highlight some of the flowers colours. I am a mega bracelet fan and get very frustrated finding bands large enough for my wrists. A few of these beauties are from the new TS14+  Summer range. It has some really fabulous bangles in gorgeous colours- I've bought almost all of them!

It was getting a bit humid for OOTD photos lol

I think I may be the only Fatshion Faceoff chicky with sunny weather actually, so I can't wait to see the others rugged up versions!

Aussie Curves: Polka Dots

Ahhh polka-dots, how I adore you! I cannot control myself, whenever I see some I have to buy them. I think it may even be a sneaky plot by the clothes-sellers- 'BUYYYYY ALLLLL THHEE SPOOOTSSS!!!!'

Dress: Volupture
Jacket: Forever 21+
Heels: Torrid
Belt: ASOS Curve
Necklace: eQuip

How fabulous is this dress from Volupture!! It has a very subtle peplum waist that gives it such a gorgeous shape. The material is also really flexible and breathable. And these are the best type of attention grabbing spots!

I added the jacket to make it a little more structured. The physical dress is kind of that perfect mixture of secretary and minx- you could wear it to the office or out to dinner! But I really like the neutral beige with the bold black, I think it clashes perfectly!

How do you wear spots??
