Aussie Curves: Skirts

As you've probably noticed, I'm a skirt and dress girl. Always have been. I love the way I feel while wearing a skirt or dress. No matter how blah a day I'm having, a pretty skirt always makes me smile!

Skirt: Domino Dollhouse
Top: City Chic
Stockings: We Love Colors

When I saw this Domino Dollhouse skirt I knew had to have it! It has a fabulous flare out cut that is ultra feminine and flattering. And the print is little pale hearts and dots- LOVE!

And of course- pockets! I can never resist a skirt with pockets!!

I also really like how easy skirts are to style. It doesn't take much at all to make a skirt up or down. A flowy tank on the top and you are ready for the beach! Some sparkles and some stocking and you're ready for the clubs! :)

Do you wear skirts often?
Do you have a favourite type?

Fatshion Faceoff: Floral Dress

I can already tell its going to be a smoking hot Summer in Australia this year- my little dresses have already been getting a workout! So for this weeks Fatshion Faceoff- here is my favourite Summer floral dress!

Dress: Dream Diva

Floral dress' are my favourite summer staple. They make me think of beaches, picnics, markets and holidays!  They make me feel so free and liberated.

This particular dress I picked up from Dream Diva last year. It's such fabulous quality with boning in the bust and cute button detailing down the front. A dress from Dream Diva is long term investment- the styles are gorgeous and they just truly last for ages! Even better, they are an Aussie brand so If you haven't seen them yet- check it out

As always- go check out all the fabulous Fatshion Faceoff ladies and their floral dresses too!

Aussie Curves: Breaking the Rules

I couldn't wait to jump into this theme. I think it is so ridiculous that once you are over a size 14 you get hit with all these 'rules' about what you should and shouldn't wear. I wear what I want to wear, I refuse to be forced into ugly sacks because someone people aren't comfortable with my chubby thighs! So here I am breaking all the rules! Chubby thighs, pattern clashing, mini skirted, sheer top and bra showing! Hurrah! :-D

Skirt: Lily and Lou
Necklace: eQuip
Flats: Rubi

I am so in love with this Cult Of California top! Is actually part of their work out range but it is so fabulous and versatile that I've been wearing it out heaps lately! I am super excited for their new collection that is coming out later this month, so if you haven't already checked out their stock- go now!

This skirt is unbelievably comfy! And it has pockets- skirts with pockets are the best skirts! It's also super light and perfect for this stinking hot weather we've been having lately- anyone who follows me on Instagram would see I've been living at the beach!

How do you break the rules??

Fatshion Faceoff: Boots

So, this weeks Fatshion Faceoff kind of snuck up on me. Apparently, all my boots are still in a box somewhere! Its been a month since we moved in and there are still a few pesky boxes I haven't got around to sorting out- a few of them full of shoes! So here are my makeshift boots for this week!

I absolutely adore these heels- they are like a peek-a-boo boots! The studs and leather look toughen up any outfit and always make me feel rock and roll when I wear them! I had to pair them with the fabulous Torrid mini- it screams rock and roll!

Check out all my gorgeous booted Fatshion babes!

OOTD: Gala Ball

I'm not sure I've properly mentioned it before, but in 'real-life' I'm a Pediatric Nurse. I love being a nurse. Not only is it an extremely rewarding career but I've met some amazing people too! Of course the only downfall is shift work- but work hard play hard right!

Every year the hospital puts on a Gala Ball, a really great event that lets us all get dressed and celebrate the year that was! This yeas a bunch of my nursey ladies and I dressed to the nines and hit the free wine with gusto!

\

It was a really fab night and as you can see by the piccys there was a great turnout! But what to wear to a Gala Ball??!?! I agonized over what to wear and when that happens- I always pull out the 80's inspired glam!

Dress: City Chic
Necklace: Diva
Flats: Rubi Shoes

You can't help but feel fabulous in tule, jewels and sequins! Outfit win!! I always wear flats to these kind of events. As much as heels look amazing, I just can't go the dancing distance in them. And with wine included in the ticket price- high heels would be a recipe for trouble for me!

I splashed out and had my hair done for the night and it made such a difference in the outfit. I loved the gorgeous curls and not having to worry about if my hair was still in okay. I borrowed Emma's red lippy for the night but I'm not sure it's me. What do you think???

The amazing necklace was a last minute change up, but I think the gorgeous sparkles were just what the dress needed to take it to the next level!

What would you wear to a gala ball???
Do you have a go-to style that makes you feel glamorous??

Fatshion Faceoff: Body-con dress

Hopefully you saw the rocking Torrid bandage dress I was wearing a few weeks back? If  not, well that is the amazing dress I was planning to wear for this post. One of the best things about living is Australia is its beautiful tropical weather. As it turns out, Spring has well and truly hit with 30 degree plus days and horrendous humidity; so as gorgeous as that dress is, it's just to bloody hot to wear it!

Fatshion Faceoff this week called for a body-con dress. And instead of the all-out sexy look I was planning, here is body-con dress for the everyday wear!

Dress and Kimono Jacket: City Chic
Tights: M Line
Necklace: eQuip
Bag: Found at some markets in Melbourne

It's so easy to wear bangin' body-con out on the town, but for everyday wear it runs the risk of looking a little trashy. This City Chic tunic dress is pretty much totally skin tight, there is a small amount of flare in the very base of the skirt but that's it. It totally hugs my chest and hips but is balanced out by the floaty kimono jacket and tights.

The dress is also quite low-cut when worn with a good bra, so I tried to ease the boobness with a large statement necklace. I've worn this dress out quite a few times as a full on skanked up version, but I love it in a more relaxed way as its comfy to wear and super versatile as a layering piece.

Alrighty- check out all my ladies and their body-con dresses too!

Aussie Curves: Blue

I knew just the dress I was going to wear when I read this weeks Aussie Curves theme was blue! This amazing ASOS dress has just been unpacked from storage and it was so much more than perfect!

Dress: ASOS Curve
Necklace: eQuip
Glitter Wedges: Torrid
Bag: Saved from the rubbish bin!

The dress has a really gorgeous circle crotchet-like over layer. The cut is super cute too and makes me feel ultra feminine.

The blue is so vibrant and eye-catching. Its such a royal blue that it matched perfectly with gold accessories. These amazing wedges I picked up for $4 on sale at Torrid- $4!!! How amazing is that!!
