Fatshion Faceoff: Printed Skirt

This weeks Fatshion Faceoff was a challenege. A patterned skirt, but not animal print or stripes?! All of a sudden my epic wardrobe seemed small! I hunted around and tried countless outfits on before remembering my awesome Domino Dollhouse Exclamation dress!! It was perfect!

Dress as a skirt: Domino Dollhouse
Cardi: City Chic
Belt: Carmakoma
Heels: Torrid

I feel pretty fabulous in this outfit. A little bit 50's and a little bit Mad Men! I couldn't help myself, I had to do some greyscale themed photos!

I tricked the dress up a little and wore it as a skirt with this fab little City Chic cardi over the top. It takes the chill off on these Winter nights and feels amazing. The skirt is the perfect length- not too short, not to long. And I had to pair this fab fifties inspired outfit with my killer Torrid stillettoes! swooooonn!!

And this Carmakoma belt?!?! How fab is it!! I've been wearing it like crazy lately, it really punches an outfit- the leather like look gives instant toughness!

I loved these last two piccys, one makes me look like a fierce tough woman and the other is a sneaky pic Ben took of some lippy re-application!

Can't wait to see how all the Fatshion Faceoff babes did with their patterned skirts!

Aussie Curves: Red

Sometimes I don't feel like getting dressed up or even wearing anything even remotely sexy (*ahem* sometimes I get hung over....). Today was one of those days. After an awesome night out on the town yesterday, I wasn't feeling my most fabulous best. I find these days to be maxi-dress days!

Dress: Crossroads

The Aussie Curves challenge this week was red- a colour I have lots of in my wardrobe! I thought this dress was a perfect way of showing you can put colour into your wardrobe without overpowering. The basic black and white are the focus but the red adds that extra oomph!

I really love this necklace. Regulars here have probably noticed is more than an outfit staple. I love the message and the way it makes me feel when I look at it. It always makes me thankful for everything we have. Happiness truly is a journey!

I truly believe that some sunshine, a gatorade and a maxi dress makes a recovering Sunday- a much better Sunday! A maxi hides a multitude of 'sins' and are so incredibly comfy you can do anything in them- even eat a giant greasy McDonalds breakfast, oh yeah..I did that...

What do you wear on a recovering Sunday????

Fatshion Faceoff: Denim Skirt

I still remember my first fat-fashionable denim skirt, it was almost a magical moment. With it came my realization that I could dress however I liked; that I wasn't bound by some invisible rules dictated by my body size. It was a fashion revolution!

The humble denim skirt you say??!? Well yes. At the time, everyone was wearing them. Little denim skirts- mini skirts with tights under them. I wanted so badly to wear one. I thought they looked so cute and cool. And then I found one. A mini one! In my size!!!! Fast forward 10 years and here we are! This week's
challenge item is a denim skirt!

Skirt: City Chic
Jumper: Torrid
Tights: We Love Colors (gifted)
Shoes: Rubi Shoes

So in the spirit of all things fatshion rebellion like, I styled this denim wonder with everything I'm 'not' supposed to wear- mini skirts, horizontal stripes, bold colour and clashy colours!

I love the ruffles on this skirt- it adds a whole extra level of cheekiness!

With the awesome plus-size denim range available now its easy to get your hands on a cute little versatile piece to love! Here are a few of the denim skirts around at the moment that are catching my fancy!

Make sure you check out all the Fatshion Faceoff Babes in their denim skirts!!!

Aussie Curves: Leggings

This weeks Aussie Curves post was too easy- leggings seem to make up 50% of my wardrobe! Now, I read a pretty nasty post by a fashion blogger the other day, who said that leggings can never be a fashion item...... Well I think it's all about how you wear them! Fashion is about self expression and I happen to love rocking some black (or brightly coloured!) leggings!!

Leggings: Avella via BigW
Tunic: Yours Clothing
Jacket: Target
Necklace and Beanie: Equip
Heels: Torrid

I love leggings. Seriously. They go with everything, are super comfy and crazy cheap! Whats not to love?! There are so many styles available now too, I have all different lengths and embellishments. These ones have a funky ankle zip detail but I have others with studs, lace, leather strips, cut-outs and even rad patterns!

Don't you think there is something effortlessly cool about a mid-thigh mac jacket- even better, this jacket was a freebie from Suger Coat It!

So tell me, what do you think of leggings??
Fashion statement or fashion faux pas???

FFFWeek: Indie Designs Showcase

The second last night of Full Figured Fashion Week was by far the most inspiring event of the week- the Indie Designs Showcase. There were some truly amazing pieces that I'm dying to get my hands on! Here are some of my favourite piccys of the night! (on a side note- really must buy a DSLR!!!)

My personal favourite designer was definitely 17 Sundays. It was fabulous seeing Australian plus-size fashion represented on the international catwalk! Their collection was fresh, funky and made me truly proud to be coming from a country showcasing such wicked original style.

Ashley Nell Tipton's collection also rocked the catwalk that night! Her designs are so free, playful and yet structured- I can imagine wearing them everywhere!!

Savannah Red presented a real quirky and original collection. The pieces were full of real Texas fun and spunky fabulousness! And the designer Anslee is a total babe too!! (Following pictures by Danimezza)

These are just a few of my favourite highlights- there were some awesome collections displayed! It's really inspiring to see where the plus-size Fashion world is heading, we are getting there slowly but surely!

After the main event, Nicole, Bec, Karen, JenJess and I headed out for some dinner and drinks- and I think by the time these photos were taken I was several wines in! ;)

What a fabulous bunch of babes!!

One of the greatest things about Full Figured Fashion Week was the chance to mingle and meet some of my blogging heroes! I was honored to finally meet Chastity of Garner Style and Kiah of From The Rez to The City. They are both such amazing and fashionable women!

Top: ASOS Curve
Skirt: Domino Dollhouse
Shoes: Rubi Shoes

I wore my favourite Domino Dollhouse Bow Out Skirt and ASOS Curve cage top-love!!! I had also picked up quite a few funky bracelets while shopping in NYC which I thought went great with this outfit! I caved and wore flats though- it had been a big week of heels and I couldn't face them!!

Another huge thanks to Nicole and her fab DSLR skills for these piccys!

Phew! Well I'm finally getting to the end of my FFFWeek posts! Thankyou for all following along- only two more posts to go! :)
