Fatshion Faceoff: Shorts

How quickly these Fatshion Faceoff posts come around! This week's challenge item is shorts!

Shorts: Torrid
Jacket: City Chic
Shirt: Supre
Leggings and Shoes: BigW

This was a really interesting post for me. If you've been to my blog before, you have probably noticed I am a total dress and skirt girl. I think the last time I wore shorts was.....well if you exclude my swim-shorts I don't even know! Probably when we were trekking in Thailand a few years ago.

Even though I don't really wear them, I actually have a few different pairs of shorts! Isn't it silly how we collect clothes sure that we will wear them 'one day'. After trying a few casual denim pairs, I decided that they just don't suit me and the best way to style some for this post was to dress them up. I paired this grey structured pair with this flowy tank (which I snapped up from Caitlin) and roughed it up with my leather jacket.

I wore the outfit out to a date night with Ben. Originally I had the tank tucked in, but I think it looked heaps cooler un-tucked. Which do you like better?? Also, being so chilly I popped my favorite tights under them; mind you they are so short I would probably always wear stockings underneath! Overall I felt pretty rocking in this outfit!

I can't wait to see what the other Fatshion Faceoff babes come up with this week!

OOTD: Winter Nights

Winter has set in and I've taken all my warmer jackets out of storage! Winter is actually my favourite season, I love cozy nights in, drinks around a fire and toasty hot chocolate! And, when heading out- I love to layer up!

Tunic: City Chic
Leggings: Big W
Jacket: Crossroads

We went out for dinner and to the movies last week to see Avengers (totally awesome by the way, you have to see it!) and I wore this comfy tunic top and jacket. I think the military inspired tailoring on the jacket really structures the outfit. This one is so easy to throw over an outfit, it's become a chilly season staple.

We always stay till the very end of the movie in case there is anything after the credits, so as usual we were the last ones in the cinema. I thought it was the perfect chance to take a few OOTD piccys- even if we did get some funny looks from the cleaners! Also, how feral do the seats look?! Can't see that when the lights are down!

What kind of jacket do you wear on chilly nights????

Birthday wrap-up

My birthday month is coming to end (but I'm looking forward to our USA Adventure in 2 weeks!), thank-you sooooo much for all your lovely birthday wishes, I feel extremely loved! These are a few of my favourite birthday Instagrams!

We had a really fabulous few weeks of celebrations. I got extremely spoil (most notably with my new Kate Hill pink cases I had been lusting after!), had a mini birthday-party at work as I was on a night-shift the day before my actually bday, we had a five course birthday dinner with matching wines at Swill Bar, hit up the Greek Festival and almost ate my weight in haloumi cheese, had drinks and nibbles at my favourite bar Cloudland and tore up The Valley on a huge night out! Phew!

I didn't actually get many photos at all on the actual night out- I think the tequila started flowing too early! ;)
I wore out a gorgeous (and booby!) City Chic Grecian style dress which I need to wear again for proper OOTD piccys!

And as another awesome birthday surprise, one of my photos was featured in Plus Model Magazine Plus Fashion Instagrams! Yayyyyy!!!!

What have you been up to this month???

Fatshion Faceoff: Floral Skirt

This weeks Fatshion Faceoff challenge item is a floral skirt! This post is actually great timing because I had just picked up this ASOS floral skirt early last week!

Skirt: ASOS Curve
Tank: City Chic
Slips: Rubi Shoes

Even though I do like the lantern shape, I think it might be a but poufy on my already ample hips. I adore the print and the little flecks of silver through the jacquard fabric- that's what sold it for me! It's such a summery outfit, I think this should definitively come to USA with us! :-D

These flats are so easy to wear. I love Rubi Shoes- they make awesome basic shoes for everyday wear, and are great prices!

As a side note, to save money for FFFWeek I've been skipping my eyelash extension appointments. Siighhhhhhh I feel eyeball naked.

Make sure you check out the other babes in their floral skirts too!

Birthday Shenanigans!

It was my twenty-sixth birthday two days ago and I'm a big believer in stretching out celebrations as much as I can. On the day, Ben and I went out for wines (OOTD to come soon!) and tomorrow we are hitting the town with some girlfriends for dancing and shenanigans!

I have always been a little bit birthday crazy and this will be the first year in ages we won't be having a big house party; main reason of course- we are still houseless! But in the spirit of celebration I wanted to show you a few of the rad parties we have had over the past five birthdays!

I've been:
- A zombie prom queen
- A BDSM dungeon mistress
- A detective in the Hottie Police
- A... well this one is just 22 year old me dancing ;)
- And a 21 year old princess!

I can't wait for tomorrow night and officially sharing my birthday with the bloggy world for the first time!

What do you do for your birthday????

Fatshion Faceoff: Scarf

This weeks Fatshion Faceoff challenge item is a scarf. The first thing that comes to my mind when I think of scarves is our Holiday of Awesome over in the UK; primarily because I lived in a woolly scarf for the whole 7 weeks! Refer to ridiculous picture of the dumb Australian tourist all rugged up yet wearing flip-flops...

Even though it's definitely getting chillier over here, it's never quite cool enough to whip this beauty out in Brisbane. So, I thought the best thing to do for this week's Fatshion Faceoff is to show you how I wear a light scarf for our mild winters!

Dress: ASOS Curve
Scarf: Best and Less
Flats: Stolen from my sister

One of my favourite things about a light and wide scarf, is that you can wear it a million ways. For chilly afternoons- throw it over your shoulders.

As a fashion accessory, grab it on the go and sling it around your neck. A fab pattern like this is already such a statement piece that you need little else to keep a chic look.

For some extra warmth- layer it up! I've even been guilty of using mine as a mini picnic rub in the park!

And of course for windy days- take some notes from classic glamour icons  and wrap it over your hair!

Check out the other Fatshion Faceoff girls to see how they rock their scarves too!

Dorothy Perkins Love

I am more than a little in love with Dorothy Perkins. While we were travelling in the UK I was super excited to be able to get into a DP store and try some of their pieces on- even more exciting, they had a sale so I came home with a few dresses too!!! :-D

I've been doing some serious window shopping at their on-line shop lately and mega lusting after Mamma Moon's epic Dorothy Perkins Wardrobe!). So, when a VIP 25% off code became available, I jumped on it straight away!!! Now, the issue is-how do I narrow down my wish list?!? Here are some of my favourite pieces at the moment:

I adore the structured cut of their dresses and skirts. They sit so gorgeously on curves and flatter every body shape! They almost make me want to get a secretary job so I can wear them everyday! ;)

I can't get enough of their cute blouses and embellished tops. Plus, I'm still shoe hunting for FFFWeek and think some of these beauties will be comfy and fabulous!

To get 25% off your full order at Dorothy Perkins enter the code DPVIPE at checkout!!!

Fatshion Faceoff: Stripe Skirt

Every week, along with five other fabulous bloggers around the globe, we style one chosen fashion item in our own way. This weeks Fatshion Faceoff challenge item is a stripe skirt!

I realllyyyyy wanted this midi skirt when I saw it on ASOS Curve but it sold out so quickly I missed it! I was lucky enough to pick it up on eBay a few months ago and have been wearing it like crazy ever since! I love that it's so easier to dress up or down- I styled it relaxed and casual for this weeks Fatshion Faceoff and wore it out on this gorgeous sunny (but chill) day!

Skirt: ASOS Curve
Tank: Lily and Lou
Jacket: Domino Dollhouse
Bow Belt: ASOS Curve

The weather is well and truly cooling down at the moment so I'm loving this light rocking Classic Jean Jacket from Domino Dollhouse.

Make sure you check out my other fabulous Fatshion Faceoff girls!

OOTD: May is mischief month

I can never wait for May to begin. It's well and truly a party month- there are so many girlfriends with birthdays in May that work literally gives up on us with all our requested days off! On the weekend just gone, we celebrated Nicole's birthday by hitting up the town for some shenanigans!

Skirt: City Chic
Top: City Chic
Stockings: We Love Colors
Necklace: Colette

I'm a bit in love with this skirt- it's so easy to wear and looks good with everything- plus it is so easily dressed up. The rocking necklace I picked up in a mad 50% off sale at Colette, it's so luxe I can't get enough of it. And as for the shoes, I know, I know, major fashion faux pas. I had some killer Betts shoes on at dinner but it was the first wear and I just couldn't go the dancing distance in them. All I had in the car to change into was these- my work crocs! Shame!! ;-P

One weekend down, four to go! And it's my birthday this month too!
Do you have a party month???

OOTD: With a bang!!

The minute I saw the new Domino Dollhouse Rebel Rebel Collection, I fell instantly in love with this PunKtuation Dress. It's funky, cute, girly and oh so fabulous!

Dress: Domino Dollhouse
Petticoat: Can't remember?? :-/

I love the funky prints and standout styles that Domino Dollhouse make. I hate blending in with with everyone and nothing stands out like an exclamation point!

It's such a cute cut anyway but the added flounce-petticoat gave it a real extra feminine feel. I've worn the dress out a few times, but this was the first day with a petticoat.

Have you ever worn a bouncy petticoat out??

Fatshion Faceoff: Little Black Dress

It was my pick for this weeks Fatshion Faceoff post and I chose a little black dress. The LBD is an item we had talked about on and off for a few weeks together, so I thought it was time the humble black dress got to shine!

Dress: TS14+
Stockings: We Love Colors

I adored this dress the minute I saw it! It's actually marketed as a vest but it's so easily sexed up, I couldn't resist rocking it out as dress!

It has such awesome detailing. The ruffle neckline and pockets add a real sexy spin to the basic cut. The material has the perfect amount of cling without losing movement (or clinging to lumps and bumps!) and the elasticated hem gives it an awesome tulip shape.

A LBD is always so classically beautiful. They are timeless, versatile and sexy to boot! I have quite a few little black dresses, but whenever I find rad little dress like this I have to snap it up- it's the perfect mix of funk and style!

Make sure you check out all the Fatshion Faceoff girls to see their take on the little black dress!
